XBOX Dashboard Update is Live - Reports of bricked consoles and Xbox LIVE connection issue

This morning Major Nelson confirmed that the new Dashboard update for Xbox Live will arrive on December 6th, two weeks from today.

In addition to a visual overhaul, the following changes will arrive:

* Cloud Storage for Game Saves and LIVE Profile
* Beacons and Facebook Sharing
* Enhanced Family Settings
* Integrated voice and gesture controls across the dashboard and in apps
* Bing voice search (US, UK and CA)

You might notice that the listing of features does not include the Xbox Live television features we discussed a few weeks ago. But Major Nelson's post does state that "on an ongoing basis through the holiday months...new, customized applications for television, movies, internet videos, sports and music will begin rolling out."

Cloud Storage
The update will include new "personal and social features." Your Game Saves and Live Profile will now be stored in the cloud. This will make it a whole lot easier to transfer your info when upgrading or swapping Xbox consoles. Before, a data transfer would be necessary.
Beacons and Facebook Sharing
A beacon will allow you to share with friends, both on Xbox LIVE and Facebook, what you’d like to play. Friends can jump in and play with you or vice versa. How about all those achievements you win? You can now easily share them on Facebook.
Enhanced Family Settings
This is exactly what it sounds like. Parents have more control over what can be watched, played or purchased on Xbox LIVE.
Integrated Voice and Gesture Controls
The update will make it easier to navigate through the new menus, videos, music and games. You can use a controller, gestures or simply use your voice to speak the command.
Bing Search
You can now search the web with style. Don’t worry, you won’t need a keyboard. Simply search using your voice. Bing voice search will be available this year in the US, UK and CA.
Live Profiles
You can take your profile anywhere. The Wii allowed you to bring your Mii to friend’s console by brining your WiiMote. With the December update, you can bring your Xbox LIVE Profile, along with your Avatar, Game Saves and Gamer Score by just logging on, no need for gamer tag recovery.
In addition to the new interface, Major Nelson said to expect more:
"Starting on December 6[SUP]th[/SUP] and continuing on an ongoing basis through the holiday months, a wealth of new content will be coming to Xbox 360. New, customized applications for television, movies, internet videos, sports and music will begin rolling out from world-leading providers in more than 20 countries."

To live without live is not being alive !!
hence i am happy to go with all the Lt releases and spending my precious 1000ss bcoz at the end of the day i get my dose of online gaming !

New Dash looks a bit ugly. Last one for was better. Navigation is alot easier but i just dont like the layout. Beacon and Activty feature is a great way to stay in-touch withe ur XBL friends. Still waiting for Youtube to be released.

    BTW, i started Ghost of Tsushima, and it got me hooked within the first couple of minutes. I already know It's gonna be a memorable experience. This is how you make a proper Samurai game. Not that SJW game Ubisoft is making.

    That's still higher than it's total play length. A 5 hour campaign for a $50 game is downright scammy.

    I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

    As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

    Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

    Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

    PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.
