custom recovery on galaxy s4

i need to know how to check that my cousin's galaxy s4 19500 is on custom recovery or stock recovery?
2ndly the phone is rooted and i cant get OTA updates?
how to unroot it and be confirmed that it is on stock recovery and stock rom

Mostly its vol up + Home + power button combo when phone is off, but if yours already rooted download quick reboot or similar app to boot into recovery.

You can find all the stock firmwares on sammobile.

You can't get OTA now, never ever, this is why Samsung should die. Them and their dammed Knox. Knox is god-knows-what trigger that isn't controllers from software, once knox is triggered you can't have OTA on that phone. Guys who had two of them checked before/after and realtime comparison between them and didn't find anything different either, some thing there is a very tiny EFUSE circuit that is burnt with root/knox trip

Bro who care about Knox? At least not me. I was using custom ROM 5.1.1 and had to get Marshmallow I downloaded stock firmware (of different region) from samobile and flashed it via Odin. Now enjoying Marshmallow custom ROM.

A friend of mine had his S6 in warranty but he could not resist and rooted and then flashed Mm via odin. Our phones are Knox free and extremely debloated.

So I was replying him! Plus yea NO ONE cares unless you need OTAs, for that you gotta do Kies or Odin. That's a laughing stock that "your phones are Knox-free" ROFL, Knox isn't just apps pal. It is integrated into BOOTLOADER - YOU CAN'T REMOVE IT

how you managed to root and than flashing the same s6 worked for you? i have tried few rooted s6 to flash but always come up with drk failed error.

You didn't got my point buddy. We know that we can't get rid of knox from bootloader. What I was trying to say that we are Knox free in terms of OTA's and it's apps.

koi s6 ko root kar k flash karaenge toh wo stuck ho jayega. ap ne kase flash kia? bina stuck problem k
