I want to replace my PTCL connection with Connect internet. Should I take the step because of Connect's reasonable pricing? Are the speeds stable or they get low during peak hours? BTW I live in Gulistan-e-Jauhar block-4.

I live in Block 4 and the dealer for this location isn't very reliable. If a router gets fried up or there's a break in the cable line, expect the internet to be down for days or even weeks. Speed is okay and the dodear website gets updated regularly.

Connect, being a shared internet provider can be risky in terms of hacking or viruses. I wanted to ask that if I buy Connect's connection, will it be safe? Because I had seen my cousin's computer suffer from viruses long ago when he had been using local cable net. I am fed up of PTCL as now they aren't even giving me 1mb while I am paying for a 2mb connection.

PTCL is also shared. And use antiviruses if you feel the risk. Btw, we dont have our credit cards saved up our PCs so,... i dont think thats much of a risk!

I live a main Jhor mor... using connect for about 4 months now... i have 1Mbps connection...play Battlefield 3 online daily with no major issues.... but some times get problems but thats once in 2-3 weeks.. overall i will rate it as good..
I was previously using PTCL 2Mbps that was good too but its main disadvantage was no download site like Connect has DoDear, nearly all films and wrestlings are available on that so all the bandwidth is saved for gaming... On PTCL u cant play online game while torrent in on and problem of high ping during peak hours... on Connect i play Battlefield 3 at night no problems at all... and i havent suffered from virus till now

Started using connect, got my 4mb (Red) Connection on 2nd August. No problems uptill now, no regrets leaving PTCL. The only problem is the torrent speed throttling, I can't get over 150 kbps, any workaround for that?

Not really a workaround, but I use filestream.me.

Anyone else having problems with steam on connect? I can't even download my games now as it always says connection timed out plus dozens of other problems like automatically logging out of client, errors in online trades etc...I'm getting sick..

I live in DHA Phase 4/7. I contacted my area's connect dealer. He said I would have to pay 15000PKR for installation (OTC). He says they specifically only deal in Fiber. Is this normal? I think his shop's name is Delta Communications.

Do contact to Transworld, Fiberlink or StormFiber. They are providing FTTH (Fiber Connection). Please contact their support service to check availability on your area.

Do you use World Call. I heard World Call is not that bad in DHA. I think Connect don't give fiber to individual and connect Ethernet connection quality depends on Area manager or Representative . Currently i m using connect but my area representative of connect don't maintain the network quality so i m not impressed with my connect connection. If you want to know authentic connect representative call connect UAN number from its website and asked him do you offer in that area and which connection you provide i mean fiber or Ethernet and what are the charges?
