Re: Connect introduces new packages

My cousin uses connect and r4fay does too. Both of them repeatedly get more than what they pay for.
The only thing stopping me from getting connect right now is that I haven't yet heard of anyone using them in the PECHS area. Secondly, one of my main requirement is that connection should be on 24/7. That's the main reason I have stuck with Witribe even though they give 50% speeds of what they promised.
Aaaahhhhh dont compare it with wi-tribe

Re: Connect introduces new packages

Apparently it is. I just called my local dealer and inquired about these new packages and he said yes it is true. I also called them a week ago asking why my internet had been so shitty and they said they were upgrading their infrastructure, that's why.

Are you guys (connect users) getting full speeds at all times? What about pings? are they low? If the speeds are 24/7 good then I'm getting the 10mbps connection asap!

Dank , Hamilton .
dont expect to get good speeds if the connect is newly launched in the neighborhood , they will have their downtimes and disconnections , their Download server is pretty good which lets your download stress off your connection thats a plus , lots of users playing on local and dedicated servers , forums , vypress local area chat , i had pretty good and bad times with connect i got a conn 2006 when they were 1 year past their launch 2005 so the downtimes and disconnections was obvious , i have multilive cable net which also uses pppoe dialer no issues , even if your connection is shared you will get the speeds am getting 170 to 190 download speeds all the time on 1.5mbps con , 800 a month , expectations switch malfunction , cable problems , loadshedding in areas where your switch is connected , conn will be limited to you , the usual cable wala fight company sey band hai theek karrey hain , fibre kharab hogaye , fibre lagarey hain , server maintain karrey hain , the usual , nothing bad so a new user approaching should keep all that in mind .
i heard connect is now using prepaid service , no ideas about that .

heres there dodear portal server its neat

you seems to be getting the full speed which you should get over 4 MB connection so by that logic 10 MB connection should easily give 1 MB over Internet Download Manager. :bd2:

well it also depends in the area i have used connect the main problem is that they share bandwith with different users..so download speed might decrease when all the people using the net simultaneously

I have been using connect internet for 4 years
and i would like to say that Connect itself is a wonderful ISP, offers great packages but please note that Connect is same like Those old days Cable net
A wire is coming into ur house and a dialer is used to connect internet

now heres the worst part

Since the connection is on those Routers/switches so if a switch fails so the user cant do anything about it.. when there is Rain.. 90% of switches gets hang or dont work at all.. so in general u cant rely on these people basically it depends on the CONNECTION MANAGER who is moderating it.. if he is dull then believe u me.. u will cry
if he is perfect, then connect is best isp in karachi

now i have used 10mb, just got an account from my friend and let me tell u its dam fast
getting 1.2mb/s speed on IDM doesnt matter there are many users online or not, u will get 10mb speed

The verdict is out; after using the 'new' package for three days, here's my opinion: don't get it. With the illusion of high download speeds, they are highly limiting uploads, which result in low download speeds in torrents. The basic idea of a torrent is, the more you upload, the higher download speeds you get. Since they limit the uploading speed, there's no way of attaining maximum download speeds. This, however, doesn't applies to HTTP downloads, so maximum speeds are guaranteed. (I have been downloading via IDM at 480-610kbps.)

If you are bent on downloading torrents, then I have bad news. Otherwise get it. I guess they are aware of the fact that most of their users download torrents. This is a plausible deluding.

m also user of connect red package. paying 1200 to my cable operator for 1.5mbps. my account is now upgraded to 4mbps as per connect new bandwidths. getting almost 600+ kbps on IDM and nearly 300kbps on torrents (using iptorrents). 1200 main 4mb is too good.

So what are the max speeds of torrents on the 10mbps connection? If its above 600kbps then its good enough. Also, can anyone using the 10mbps connect it?
