Cannot see my pictures in USB flash drive

i have an 8gb flash drive..It had my pictures.
Something happened and now i can see that the disk is full but it wont show any folders or pictures when opened..
Any help will be appreciated.

[MENTION=20681]CrashBandicoot[/MENTION]! Its caused by a virus. Your files are still there in your USB Drive, but they are now marked as "System Files/Folders". Inorder to access them, you'll have to SHOW HIDDEN FILES, not only 'just hidden' but the "Protected Operating System Files".

NO Anti Virus software will be able to capture and eliminate this virus. So you'll have to use other method for that.

Following is a solution, which requires you to be careful with the "Drive Letter". Dont ask me now, why is that. You'll know anyway ... if you mess up :p

Spoiler: show
1. Insert the thumb drive to an empty USB slot. Take note the drive letter. For an example, X:

2. From the State Menu, find "cmd". Incase of Win7, run it As Admin.

3. Open the "X" Drive. (using 1.cd\ and 2.X: commands) Then Enter the following command
attrib -s -h -r X:/*.* /s /d
(Replace 'X' with your USB Drive Letter)

4. Press Enter and wait for the command to execute.

5. Open the thumb drive and you should see the files that were hidden by the virus.

Hi all...thanks for the help..
yes it was some virus,and as per the above instructions i could see the hidden folders.
But it looks like somebody has formatted the USB stick through an xbox.
All i can see is an xbox folder and a dozen data files which windows wont open.
Is there any way of opening these data files on PC? Although i am not sure these data files contain my picture or something else but worth a try.

How much space is filled on the drive? If someone have formatted it, then i am not sure if you can recover that date, or even its existence on the Drive.

Install 7-zip in your PC. Right Click on ONE "Data" file, and select Open Archive.

Post a screenshot here and let me see what are the files inside these "Data" files.

I have the pictures saved in Pakistan,i will have to ask them to send me in a DVD or usb drive or somehow email all 6gb of them.

Right now i will give up on this USB drive as it has taken too much of time and i don't want to spend anymore time on this.

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
