I have fiber optics in my area. Used 8mbps for couple of months. Speed was pathetic. Ptcl people also came to check many times and they found no problems.
I have finally down graded to 4 mbps everything seems to be fine now.

U have to be on fiber to get speeds more than 4mbs and that fiber can hold data upto 16mbs. Otherwise opt for vdsl bonding that can be onky enquired by visiting local exchange.

And it seems you have veryhigh attenuation so forget abt getting more than 4.

Just check my stats :)

Depends on your area but since I have slightly worse stats than you and have a pretty stable connection Alhamdulilah, I am confident you can get one as well. Just depends on the load in your area + line quality. If you SNR is not stable, it will cause a lot of issues.

lahore dude
how much bill do you get? and how do you utilize that 16mb? i think you have many hdd's
i have about 15tb approximately, but it is all filled... and the bill is a little over 5k... it just gives me slightly better pings and i enjoy the fast speeds(even though i have less stuff to download now).

Hi, please guide me if the following stats are fit for an 8 mpbs ptcl connection

SNR Margin: Downstream = 20.6, Upstream = 6.7

Attenuation: Downstream = 8.5, Upstream = 8.3

I ask this because recently I applied for a new landline with an 8 mbps connection, the dl & up stream stats in the router shows 9mpbs & 1 mpbs correctly but when I run the speedtest it maxes out at 3.50 mbps download! Which is more like 4 mpbs & NOT 8 mpbs reading/stat.

first restart your modem
second try both g.dmt and adsl2+ modulation
Third connet to the route wired and make sure your the only one using the net when you are doing the speedtest
Fourth observe

How to change these modes?

Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Open You Browser
in the adress bar type
192.168.1.1
it will ask for a password type
username: admin
Password: admin
once you in the setup page of your modem
click on Advanced Setup in the left side
click on DSL
change the settings to what i have
Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

now generally this is what most people say so im gonna leave this here in case you wanna experiment later

g.dmt = Lower pings - lower speeds - recommended for unstable lines - seems to improve line stats snr,dbr e.t.c
ADSL2+ = higher speeds - higher pings - not recommended for unstable lines - seems to make the line stats snr,dbr e.t.c worse

again as i said for some people the speed diffrence wont be even noticible nither the ping diffrence but for some it might be huge for me it was

ADSL2+ = 36- 40 ms on speedtest
g.dmt = 30 - 34 ms on speedtest

as you can see not a huge improvement my lines not the best but not bad either its decent for what i would say i get olid speeds from 480 kbps - 520 kbps

My stats are similar, I have a stable 8Mbps connection and the speed is great, up to 900 KB/s on torrents and sometimes 1.0 MB/s on IDM.

Restart your modem.
Delete cache and browsing history on your browser, restart your PC.
Open up cmd on your PC, type ipconfig /flushdns
Load speedtest.ptcl.net and see if the speed changes.

Mine was still at 4 for a while even after the modem said 9215 kbps downstream. I rebooted it a few times and it fixed itself.

It has been fixed. No more issues, ptcl was throttling it. They were running some tests.

First of all why are you using g.dmt? G.dmt is limited to 7mbps, use adsl2+ with annex A. Your snr's are ok but the attenuation is higher that makes your line unstable

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
