Breaking Bad is back for the last half of Season 5 on AMC. The new season starts Sunday, August 11th at 9pm on AMC. The final eight episodes of Breaking Bad will hit Netflix in the UK the day after they air in the States.

Emmy winners Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul plus the rest of the superb cast are back for a final 8-episode season of meth-fueled suburban chaos. It seems unnecessary to lavish more praise on Breaking Bad at this point. As one critic said: "What more is there to say about Breaking Bad? After five seasons, it feels almost beside the point to praise the outstanding acting of its stellar cast, lead by Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, and Anna Gunn, to laud its cinematography, which raised the standards for television across the board, or to meditate further on the stark clarity of Vince Gilligan's moral vision.
About the Final Episodes
AMC's Emmy Award-winning drama Breaking Bad returns to AMC for its final eight episodes on Sun., Aug. 11 at 9/8c. At the end of the first half of Season 5, Jesse (Aaron Paul) has abandoned the meth business and parted ways with Walt, who claims to Skyler (Anna Gunn) that he, too, is finished. Yet, in one of the series' most pivotal moments, Hank (Dean Norris) discovers that his unassuming brother-in-law is in fact the elusive Heisenberg he has been tracking for so long. In the highly anticipated series conclusion, the sun begins to set on Walter White's (Bryan Cranston) tenuous empire as the world around him begins to unravel and he finds himself as anything but "the king." Yet, even when all hope might be lost, Walt refuses to back down ó determined to fight until the bitter end.

About the Show
Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live. With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to secure his family's financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in this world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White's releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.

It's a relief they're ending this show. The first half of Season 5 was below par in almost every imaginable way. Quite a step down from the awesomeness of the earlier seasons.

Having said that, I'm really looking forward to it. Here's to hoping they end it on a good note.

You felt like that because of Season 4 ending. Gus was a excellent villain, well crafted and well acted. His death at the end of Season 4 meant that Season 5 would've to introduce something new to make it exciting/better. IMO, the season started slowly but eventually ending up AWESOME a few episodes before mid-season finale.

YOU DID NOT JUST SAY THAT

The first half had me on the edge of my seat throughout the 8 episodes!

Gus was, without doubt, a superb antagonist. Season 5 was more of a filler towards approaching the finale rather than boasting a strong plot which was a highlight of this show.

Well, the whole flashback didn't click with me as well and coming off from the Superb Season 4, it looked kinda weak. But you have to take into account that for those, who watched it at the time it aired, it wasn't as bad as you are making it out here. Since we just viewed Season 4 and then continued with Season 5, the impact was more significant for us. IMO, you are just blaming the show for something that it didn't even do(Season 5 was still great despite being cut in half).

Let's wait for the Season Finale and see how it closes before calling Season 5 weak. The flashback at the start will have more punch if we knew what's going on and what really happened but as of right now, we don't know anything.

I can't see anything from the first half having any bearing on the last eight episodes. I still maintain it was a filler and mostly unnecessary.

Fanboys would love anything this show throws at them. I view everything from a neutral point of view. I've come across people who were justifying the 'fly' episode from one of the earlier season (Season 3 I think) :fp1:

The Fly episode was obviously there as a filler but it was also one of the most enjoyable Breaking Bad episodes for me TBH.

I would agree that the first part of Season 5 wasn't as good as Season 4, but I guess it merely served as the stepping stone to the grand finale that is going to be Season 5 Part 2. They tied all the ends from Season 4 finale, and wrapped up the story, virtually, with Walt being the kingpin. So, the final 8 episodes are going to be a sort of stand-alone-ish, the proverbial climax of the story. It isn't that the quality of the show dipped or anything. It was still expertly written, phenomenally acted, beautifully shot. The difference was that it was meant to be a sort of opening act, not the main event.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
