Box-Office Slump: Some Facts and Figures

The real factor is Economy , american economy has hit quite low and people prefer to stay at home , rather then spend on Cinemas .
People are working double shifts . They dont have time .
Rest of the time they spent is on TV , and Cable networks these days bring on Movies so quick even after bluray release .

Economy plays a large factor . Plus from last 2-3 years Hollywood relays much on International sales more , they know they cant get much from america cause of economy


Prime example of economy is Pakistan also : People dont have money to go to cinemas , thats why we only have 1-3 cinemas in the whole big pakistan which is house full . Rest of them , is like Flies marna

The major reason for this is streaming services such as NetFlix.. Why go to a cinema when you can stream the movie directly to your tv, xbox, tablets etc. Streaming is cheaper as well. If a family of four goes to a cinema they will have to purchase four tickets, but when streaming movies, they will only have to pay for it once. Also the quality for consumer grade television sets and sound equipment has gone up considerably and a lot of the Americans have such tv sets which give them a very good experience at their home. That's why foreign box offices are doing well as compared to North American box offices as mentioned in the article as streaming services aren't available there.

Its only happening because American isolation has ended...people has gained the sense of market that there are other major powers where America has to find its feet... At least thats the way i see it
