Damn this is probably one of the best surprise releases of all time.

It's a pretty competent DMC style brawler with a musical and rhythm-tinge to everything.

The art is also fantastic and very clean.

Yes. It's actually a proper 3D brawler like DMC or Bayo with combos, style points etc.

It's not just a 'musical' game. The leaks were pretty misleading.

Its nothing like Sunset Overdrive apart from the colorful artstyle. Its not an open world and so far atleast there aren't any platforming moves.

The gameplay fundamentals are the same as Metal Hellsinger if you've played in on Game Pass, use audio/visual cues to chain combos for higher score. Though I feel the soundtrack and pacing of the combat isn't as relentless and satisfying as that game. Some fight arenas are big and the movement feels slow. There is no sprint button or (so far) any move to close out distances with enemies. There is dodge but the game needs more. Maybe it'll get better as I play more and abilities unlock.

Visually though, just WOW. Its the perfect game to remind you of the Xbox/PS2/Dreamcast era of "they don't make 'em like this anymore" games, like straight out of a show on Cartoon Network from childhood. Absolutely love it.

And the baddie looks like a copy pasta of Handsome Jack Al from Borderlands.

PC version is great. Ultrawide, DLSS and Reflex for lowest possible latency. Playing this at over 100fps+ easy and its buttery smooth.
