After publishing the best gaming laptop under $1,000 for the USA, we got many queries from people in the United Kingdom asking what their best option is under £1,000 (~$1,330), so we stopped what we were doing and started researching laptops from the UK market. We were looking for something that:

  • Has a great graphics card
  • At least a quad-core processor
  • 8GB RAM or more
  • An SSD Drive

And after reviewing many laptops, we finally selected the Acer Predator Helios 300 gaming laptop, which retails for £999 right now after discount. It’s slightly cheaper in the US and is currently on sale for $1,049. Following is a brief review, pros, cons and its specifications.

Usually, from all the laptop brands, we don’t like the Lenovo and the Acer brand due to its low quality and cheap built, but that is not true for its gaming notebooks (and thinkpads in case of Lenovo) which are very well built and most of the times, beautiful as well. The 15.6 inch Acer Predator Helios gaming machine packs a powerful 7[SUP]th[/SUP] generation Intel Core i7 processor, which is Quad Core and is clocked at 2.8 GHz (can reach up to 3.8 GHz on turbo). It also has a Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card with a whopping 6GB DDR5 VRAM (usually, most laptops in this class have a lower graphics card, or they have older VRAM or not just enough. Very few cross 5GB in this price range). It also has 16GB RAM and a speedy SSD hard drive with a capacity of 256GB. You can even add another hard disk if you want to.

All the sites we checked, this specific laptop had very high ratings, including a 4.7 out of 5 stars on Amazon UK. Moreover, as of writing this review, only 1 laptop was left in Amazon’s stock!
Side view of the Helios 300The best thing about this gaming laptop is its battery life, which is up to 7 hours (unheard of in such powerful laptops). The keyboard is amazing to type on, and keys are backlit so you can work in the dark. The color of the backlit in red, and can’t be changed (as far as we know), which is a little drawback. It has a USB 3.0 port, an HDMI port, Bluetooth, and WiFi, etc. We tried hard to look for any cons but didn’t really find many. If you are looking for high portability, then you might not like this as its slightly on the heavier side for a 15.6″ notebook. It weighs 2.7 kg (almost 6 lbs), but the good thing is, its top cover and top base are metallic.

etc etc. Read read the specs and source, check out: Best Gaming Laptop

Phil should be held responsible for this shitfest too, just like Sarah, but it's highly likely that these decisions are coming from Satya. And this isn't even the end of it. More closures are coming.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

MS one upping Sony in catching the biggest L in gaming
tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
