What is it?
Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by titans. Titans are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for pleasure rather than for sustenance. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in an area protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of titans.

Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a titan in over 100 years. Teenaged protagonist Eren and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as one of the city walls is damaged by a 60-meter-tall titan causing a breach in the wall. This begins a chain of events which leads to them joining the military to fight against the titans.

The manga won the 35th Kodansha Manga Award for Best Shounen Manga.

Why should I care?

One of the most popular currently-running Japanese manga gets a 25-episode anime adaptation. The manga is widely appreciated for its unique, acrobatic action, large ensemble cast of characters, frightening titan art, a pervasive sense of despair, and its subversion of many typical shounen tropes.

Who is making it?

Studio WIT, an offshoot of Production I.G., is handling the animation. Tetsuro Araki, known for his dramatic, over-the-top style, is handling the direction. The staff includes:

Director- Tetsuro Araki (Death Note, Highschool of the Dead, Guilty Crown)

Series Composition- Yasuko Kobayashi (Casshern Sins, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)

Music- Hiroyuki Sawano (Blue Exorcist, Guilty Crown)

Director of Photography- Kazuhiro Yamada (Death Note, Ergo Proxy, House of Five Leaves, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)

So no airing times confirmed?

And I was watching [GG] subs and on their release, they're referring to Sasha as Sasha "Blouse" :p

Same here. Haven't seen a anime for a long time but this one piqued my interest.

P.S Even Goichi Suda is a big fan of this show :p

Awesome anime, one of the best on right now. I caught up on the manga after watching a couple of episodes, will be great to see all that animated.

Ep 7 should be out today.

Gonna wait for all the Eps to come out and then watch them in one go like I do with Game Of Thrones, otherwise the waiting between eps becomes too umpleasant.

Episode 7 downloaded !

Although I'm downloading these encoded ones: [gg]_Shingeki_no_Kyojin_-_07_[3F33870C].mkv which are in 720p but the quality is sub-par...

Any other encoders/subbers present with great quality?

Man I wish I could watch EP7 right away at the office....:(

    I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

    As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

    Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.
