The sailing/Ship mission were the best thing about AC III, if they can combine that with good story and setting then AC IV might turn out to be pretty great. :D
Whelp ..

if you think about it, the ship segments of AC3 were critically acclaimed as the best bits of the game, it looks like Ubi is just running with that and are making a game around sailing/boating/pirating etc.

if this is true that is.

HOLY SHIT. So that leak on reddit was true after all about the guy seeing a woman on a plane about AC4

A pirate themed AC will be so damn awesome. It wont be dissappointing as AC3 I can bet on that. AC3 was disappointing mostly because of where the game was actually set in. Hopefully we can explore them awesome myths surrounding the seas :D

Just saw this:

We're gonna be playing as Haytham's father. Now I am sure Haytham will also appear in the game.
AC3 was not boring because of the setting. It was boring because it played it too safe with the setting trying not to offend the Americans or the British and ended up telling the story most people know, telling us no interesting facts(eg, "The British are coming" totally fake story) and using none of the myths behind the setting.
AC1 had a more controversial and still treated all historical characters with respect while making them interesting. Same with AC2.

DHA KARACHI.
Why the hell is it called AC4?

Shouldn't AC4 be in a radically different time period with no roots to the previous iteration? And isn't the gap between numbered AC games at least 2 years?

I wouldn't mind either way, If they can modify their engine to support large scale naval battles not just with 4-5 large ships but with dozens then that would make for an Epic game, It'd also be great to be able to sail whenever we want to access different Assassin bases across the carribean islands. It sounds kind of promising in my head right now.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag revealed

Strange how the response of gamers have changed after AC3. Everyone loved AC2 and just after AC3 released, everyone started hating it.

Officially announced with .. wait for it

SIXTY MINUTES OF EXCLUSIVE GAME PLAY ON PS3 :p

Pirate-themed Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag has been officially confirmed by publisher Ubisoft, and will have 60 minutes of exclusive gameplay on PlayStation 3.

Packshot artwork shows that the game will at least be released for PC, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360.

The imagery confirms its rumoured pirate setting, while a sticker on the PS3 version reveals the exclusive hour of gameplay - the same deal offered with Assassin's Creed 3 and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Yesterday, numerous leaks hinted at the game's existence and offered up a few extra details - that the game is set in 1715 and stars a pirate assassin named Edward Kenway - father of Haytham and grandfather of Connor from AC3.

Eurogamer will be able to reveal full details of the game on Monday at 5pm UK time.
