started playing last nite...getting around 15fps on average(irrelevant of settings i choose) the game is not only boring but a technical mess on PC. i mean 15fps srsly?there is definetly something wrong with the game itself as some people have reported this on other official forums too. went through hell playing with these fps and finished sequence 3. after this i really don't give a shit what this game is. poor PC port coupled with boring as f* pace has killed this game for me. RIP AC!

15 FPS on PC. LOL

You aren't missing much mate. Try Far Cry 3. It is a far better open world game than Ass Creed 3. It even has better Assassination(Radio) Tower.

Same here, started it tonight and been getting some horrible frame rates, especially in Boston, even on low. I mean cmon, it would be understandable if I was getting such FPS on high or ultra etc but even on the lowest settings, game lags like shit. Poor optimization, A really bad port PC port.

[h=1]Assassin’s Creed III DLC is Erasing Some Players’ Progress[/h]

The first DLC pack for stealth game Assassin’s Creed III is causing some players to lose their game progress.

A number of impacted users took to the Ubisoft forums to get some answers. The posts explained that their game progress was totally deleted after installing The Hidden Secrets DLC.

The side mission data doesn’t seem to be impacted by the bug, but all main mission content is wiped out. Players also said that their money was reverted back to zero after the installation was complete.

The complaints all seem to have come from Xbox 360 players, so far. The problem doesn’t seem to be affecting the majority of players that have downloaded the new content, so for now it is still available on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

We’ve contacted Ubisoft for information on how the issue is being handled; we’ll let you know what we hear.

^Could be true. I get awesome frame rates 50+ everywhere except Boston (of course) where I get 38 fps (but still very smooth) with Sandy i3. There must be something else. Even a C2D shouldn't be getting 15 fps, even with a 560Ti (Beast card). Must be a problem with updates/patch/drivers or something.

It's only natural that people are going to compare between AC3 & its award winning predecessors. I'm done with Sequence 8 and so far, I think AC3 is good but ofcourse we all expected a lot more.

+ Lots of Red Dead Redemption inspiration (Side quests, hunting, and just so much to do).
+ The big Templar twist in the beginning was pretty WTF moment.
+ 2012 sequences are a nice change of pace, shame that they are not challenging enough.
- TOO MANY BUGS to the point that its frustrating.
- Story is kinda confusing for someone who doesn't know squat about American Revolution.
- What was wrong with the combat system in earlier AC games? The new system is good but Batman Arkham City did it better.
- Economy sucks.
- Music is good, just not great like Jesper Kyd's score.
- Some sequences are better, others boring.
- Connor is no Ezio.
- Boston & New York are no Florence & Venice or Rome.
- Anvil Next does have new tricks up its sleeve but RAGE did that already in 2010 with dynamic weather and other stuff.

I seriously hope Ubisoft releases a patch to iron out 1000s of persistent bugs. Story wise, I really hope there is a satisfying conclusion.
So far, I think AC3 is good but not great like AC2 & ACB. We expected a lot more Ubisoft.

I seriously hope they take a break for a couple of years and come up with something totally new for the next gen.

Holy shit @ JE thats bad man ...

Its more processor dependent but that level of FPS on a C2D CPU is bad.
I am playing it on my Core i7 3770k with a GTX 275 GPU and get smooth 60 FPS everywhere (incl. Boston). So this pretty much confirms its very processor dependant.

people with i7s are also reporting similar problems...many have narrowed down the problem to GPU being under utilized .my GPU is only 40% load when i play this game. somehow its doing all of its processing on my CPU and since my CPU is not much therefore the horrible FPS

You know, I don't play much games after ending them. But ACIII is something else. I suggest everyone to PLEASE give it a try. Do the homestead missions, do the crafting (Look, I usually hate crafting feature in any game I play, but this is fun), Do Captain Kidd's missions, do the naval missions. Try it. It's an amazing game and worth your free time!

Ubisoft has quizzed Assassin’s Creed fans on what location they’d like to see a future instalment in the stealth-based adventure franchise set in.
EmpireStateGamer has captured an image of the market research survey conducted by the publishing giant, which confirms Ubisoft is toying with eight locations for a future title.
"Among the following propositions, in which of the following historical periods and locations would you like one of the next Assassin's Creed games to take place?” it reads.
Ubisoft has already confirmed that a new Assassin’s Creed game will be released in 2012, and recent hints dropped in 2011’s Revelations has indicated next year's entry may be set in Egypt -- which just so happens to be one of the choices outlined below.
-The violent conflicts of the Imperial Dynasties in Medieval China
-The advent of the mighty British Empire during Victorian England
-The culmination of the Pharaoh Reign in Ancient Egypt
-The invasion of the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors
-The confrontation between British colonists and native Americans during The American Revolution
-The overthrow of the Tsar Empire by the Communists during the Russian Revolution
-The Warlord Battles in Feudal Japan
-The rise of Cesar's Empire in Ancient Rome

all of these options are damin epic . so American revolution is done now what next i wish Cesar empire it's good to play as gladiator :)

So just finished Assassins Creed 3. If I had to sum it up in one word, it would be "Disappointing"
Some missions were good while others were lame and boring. The pacing was not good, it goes high and then really really low. The majority of characters were not interesting including Connor. The game was buggy. And the Ending sucked ass, one of the worst ending ever.
On the plus side, the game is huge in terms of things to do and some of them can be real fun like hunting and crafting etc. Naval missions and battles were my favourite part of this game, really awesome to play, loved them. Liked Desmond missions. Soundtrack was amazing, not as good as AC2's but still really great, gave emotion to scenes even with lame writing and characters.
Overall I was expecting a lot more since it was a conclusion to one of my favourite series this gen. Ubisoft, Y u no deliver :(
