Any Desert Sound ex-customers/clients here ?

Hey guys, want to ask .. Anyone here who has previously had any buying experience from Desert Sound ? How did it turn out ?

On paper they look fine, but I have my doubts if the equipment they sell is actually brand new or not .. I say this because I've gotten a few quotes from them, and most prices more or less are the exactly the same as those in the US (for brand new items) ... Is how is this even possible ? I mean what about customs, and their own profit, etc .. ?

I mean they quoted and A/V Receiver to me, and the price their price is just $1 more than the price on Amazon ! :mental :mental

So I'm not sure what to think here .. :/

Yes I too got quoted same usd prices and that was two years back.

I was actually there a few days back and I visited them myself ... The thing which I don't understand though is how do they make their earning, if the cost is virtually as that in the US ?

There can only be two explanations to this: They are either getting the items at discounted rates from the manufacturer, or they're selling used items at the cost of new items ..

They did tell me that when I buy my KEF speakers from them, I'll be able to register them online with KEF .. I don't know how much truth is in this statement, but a person won't say something like this unless they meant it, at least partially ..

KEF does have a Pakistani distributor listed on their website .. Some 'Hina Import & Export' or something .. Denon also seems to have this same distributor listed on their website for Pakistan .. However on Denon's website, the 'website' detail mentioned for this distributor is desertsound.com.pk .. So I think its safe to say that Hina Import & Export is somehow linked to Desert Sound ...

Still, this doesn't directly prove Desert Sound's legitimacy I think

Thier prices are unmatched and they are legit.

Bought tons of stuff from them thru out the years.

This is actually good news means a brand new denon HTIB or Onkyo HTIB at the same price as international Amazon price is great. I know Desert sound is legit!

Yep I guess it does sound legit .. Have you ever noticed that anything they ever sold to you was in even in the *slightest* way, already used ?

Also, have you tried confirming the serial numbers of the stuff you've bought through them with the manufacturer ? E.g., register speaker serial numbers on manufacturer's website ?

Desert Sound and NASHCO both are reliable names..I have bought my Onkyo HTIB from there and yes they sell brand new stuff..so nuff said!
