Aoa,
Last evening I went to the local market to buy a psu and found Antec TP-550w!! it’s an 80+ Bronze Moduler.. !! but when I look at the details on the tag I was so confused how could this be possible, it was 4 rails of +12v and on each +12v rail it was 20amp, means 20a+20a+20a+20a=80amp!! :s and there was no total outcome written on the tag !! but I am damn sure it can’t be 80amp on a 550w PSU, because if we do the calucations >> 80ax12v becomes 960watt but its actual 550watt becomes 45.8a (550w/12v=45.8amp), now if we do more calculations >> 960w-550w=410w becomes a total of 34amp (410w/12v=34a) & subtract 34a from 80a (80amp-34amp=46amp), It means and I think this PSU has 46ampares correct me if am wrong here!! Condition was gud fully sleaved, lots of connecters, color/black, weight was around 3.5-4.5kg … I don’t know anymore details!! Can someone please guide me about this Model of Antec TP-550w? How it could be 80amp am sure it’s not 80amp, but if it’s not then how many ampares are on it? And why they have written 20a on each rail that becomes 80amp?? Should I buy this? He was giving me in 2.3k with a Check warranty!!
This is the Tag of that PSU:
One more question!! let me give an example!! In a multiple rail psu, let say it has 3rails of +12v[SUB]1[/SUB] (20a) +12v[SUB]2 [/SUB](20a) & +12v[SUB]3[/SUB] (16a)=56amp, outcome approximately around 38 amp with 456w on a 550wPSU, my question is how these multiple rail ampares are used by our system? Does total 38ampres of these 3rails are used as 1 unit or does all of these 3 rails are used separately for different components of our pc? cause they are splitted in 3 parts and if that is so, which part is used for GPU?
How a single rail PSU works, is easy to understand but this is confusing!! Can someone guide me about this?
Today I went to Hafeez Center!! And after lot of wandering each and every shop I found some quality brands like of Antec and Coolermaster
Antec-TPII 550w Dual rail +12v(19a) +12v(19a)=38a output=36a .. in 2.2k
Antec-TPIII 550w in +12v(16a) +12v(18a) +12v(18a)=52amp total output was written 550w that becomes after calculation 46amp ____________ 3k
Cooler Master 550w DualRail +12v(18a) +12v(18a)=36a _____________ 3k
Other than these I found no quality brands!! Then I found a shop with only PSUs, He told me these days Antec and Cooler master PSUs are being locally made and shipped from Karachi so they are no longer branded PSUs … I was like WTF.. !! the pSU of Coolermaster i found were surly branded but honestly from the look of Antec PSUs I was a little convinsed about what he said to me .. cause they where cheaply packed in a plastic rapper!! Samll in Size !! more interesting is that I found Antec 550-TPII on a shope He was having 3 pieces of it !! I don’t know about all of this so am going to ask you guys could that guy be right what do u think?
Which one is best amoung the following :
Antec TP 550w
Antec TP-II 550w
Antec TP-III 550w
Coolermaster 550w
Please Give Me your advise Thanks !!
