Android Phone Advice

Salam everyone

So as the topic says im kind of stumped as to what android to get. There are wayyyyy too many choices.

I'm still rocking the HTC Dream/G1 (old yes i know) i kind of bought it when i was unsure about android and iOS but loved it. So i feel its about time to upgrade my phone cause its sluggish at times and just hates me at other times.

I intended to get the HTC Incredible S but after seeing the new phones with better processors at the same price i dropped that plan.

My main issues are battery life (HTC G1 really blows here like badly) and durability.
I have butter fingers just to honest i most probably will drop the phone once at least and the Galaxy SII just feels too fragile for me. (and the fact that 3 people in my village had it......and had no idea how to use it lol)

My budget is around 40K but i'm not interested in spending all that on just a phone which i know i will get bored of eventually.

So just to list main needs and uses will be:

SMS/Calls
Good battery life
Durable (some-what)
Videos
MUSIC

As a side note how are the wildfire S and the Galaxy Ace phones?

go with what Ammar said if you don't care about android development support, its a brilliant and sexy phone.

I dunno about the arc i hear it has some overheating issues and if its similar to the x10i im not touching it lol. If i am willing to throw in 50K then i suppose the best choice would be the galaxy s2? @Muaaz i guess im too used to android but i should put it that i will eventually end up doing all that.Also would the Galaxy S be a better choice than arc?

Xperia Arc is not that smooth as Galaxy S, trust me my frnd owns Xperia arc... its touch is nt that gud & lags sumtimes as compared to my Galaxy SL, i gave u my opinion as i noticed my self otha wise choice is urs bro. thnx
i own Galaxy SL i have no complain... an awsum phone with coool apps.

I think i'll mostly likely opt for the galaxy s2 or S. S2 if i don't have to pay for it (Birthdays ftw ) Whats the general pricing of a Galaxy S atm?

Personally I used a SGS and I loved every bit of it... you have so much support for it and custom roms and hacks its amazing... tho now I feel its a bit outdated... tho yes still one of my favorite phones of all time... you can probably get one new for around 35k... but I warn you make sure its the GT-i9000, not the i9003 or some other crap... if the phone doesn't have the super amoled display its just as good as any other touchscreen... keep that in mind...
I'd say tho if your actually going for a new phone at this time might as well invest in a dual core... not a single... reason I changed my galaxy was only because brother really really wanted it... I was going for the desire S but all the advice I got was if your gonna get rid the galaxy it better be worth it... and I totally agree... I got the atrix and I must say I'm quite happy with it... its a very very solid phone... and with CM7 improving their custom rom for it very quickly it just keeps getting better and better... IV also read from lots of ppl who have a S2 and Atrix both have their own advantages and disadvantages ... and to be honest I love the super amoled displays... once you use it you just can't use anything else... so I warn you before getting that taste of heaven... although the atrix resolution is higher than the sgs and s2... the colours of amoleds are amazing... if the atrix had a amoled screen I firmly believe it would be the perfect phone... tho unfortunately alot of ppl in Pakistan are of the opinion Motorola is a shit brand... maybe because anyone who comes from America has a free crappy moto flipphone... but I don't think anyone can deny moto build quality is amazing...

Anyway think I may have gone a bit off topic... just trying to say at this point in time invest in a dual core so your not stuck in the 'oh this hardware is too outdated' in a year... oh and one more thing... it'd EXTREMELY important I feel your phone should have MORE than 512 MB of ram... that's also a reason why I let the sgs go... 512 for Gingerbread is NOT enough... tho 1gb will last a looonngggg while...

well iPhone (4) isn't that bad actually and can-do the task you mentioned quiet adequately. Just curious how come a phone makes you want to hit your head against the wall?

i dislike the restrictiveness of iphones and overall dislike apple products in general.

Anyways i've looked at some phones biggest issue i found was a lack of flash in some models. Just wanted to ask which phones will give me flash and can play divx and flv videos as well?

galaxy s/sl has flash and also supports divx. though its native video player doesn't supports flv i think. But u can download media players from android market and flv will work just fine.
