Analogue Stick Problem

I don't know how it happened, probably due to excessive gaming, but my PlayStation 3's left analogue stick has started turning around! It works perfectly, only I can turn the top of the stick clockwise or anti-clockwise. Though not really a problem, it does get annoying when I push the stick down (to the move the on-screen character down) and the stick slips from my thumb because of the turning issue.

I realise I might need to open up my controller for this to fix easy, but I really need someone to help me out with a tutorial or something!

NOTE: The Left Analogue Stick (the tip) turns around!

I'm sorry bro but I don't think it can be fixed...
This happened a lot to me with my Dualshock 2s...

As the top part is connected through a cylindrical type plastic to the bottom part so if the top part breaks then there's no fixing it...

Get a cheap ass china copy of the ps2 DS 2, take out its analog stick & replace it with the faulty stick of the DS 3! (sm1)

Yeah what radical said can be done...
Take out the rubber part covering the metal stick and then replace it with your broken one !
