Advice required for valentines day.

Ok guys,I know that this is probably not the best place to discuss this,this is the only forum where my id is anonymous,and I think that atleast some of you can help me and have done this before.

Basically the story is this:I like this girl,I dont know if it's love,We have been seeing each other since a while now but I haven't yet asked her to be my girlfriend.Her friend told me that she really liked me and talked about me with her friends and all.It's sort of like an unofficial thing,we go out together and all that but we haven't discussed about this.I haven't met her parents or anything,but I think she may be the one as out nature and interest is quiet alike.

Now onto the main concern,I want to propose to her at valentines day,but I dont know how.I never did this sort of thing before and was upfront if i liked someone,but iam really hesitant here as I don't wanna blow it.Please suggest me how I should propose to her?Should I send her a card or should i tell her in person?I want to do something special for her.Please help me out brothers I think she is the one and i dont wanna mess it up.And please no smart ass comments,Iam really serious her.

There are a hundred thousand The Ones, just waiting for you to find them... Although i think she's your first love, so you will remember her for the rest of your life... hell i can remember my first crush lost somewhere in the sea of relationships (lol) 14 or so :S

Anyways, nothing beats the 'personal touch' don't do it through card/email/sms/phone, you gotta do it face to face, if you dont do it on face, she might think you are too coward or shy... and well(not really experienced with girls :S i wud rather give her advice on askin you out) but am pretty damn sure, a girl wont want a shy bf ask her in real, or don't bother at all.

First of all you dont go to a girl and say, ' hey, be my GF'. Thats stupid and only kids do that( i doubt even they do it anymore, ). Secondly, you need to make sure that you are ready for commitment, right now you are like very good friends, but when you get committed it becomes a proper relationship. I dont know how i explain this over the internet but it becomes a real responsibility and its some serious stuff. If you think you are going to break up with her in a couple of weeks i think you should stay away from this and keep things going the way they are. I cant stress this enough, make sure you ARE READY( been there done that, bad times.... ) .

Secondly about proposing, take her to a dinner or maybe lunch i dont know look at your budget( oh and relationships are expensive as well, she'll always need something from you), or see what USUF said, follow that. Then its your job to pick a correct moment and say it, dont worry about the consequences, she will reject you at the max, nothing else. Besides if you really like her then i dont think that should be scared of telling her about your feelings( this is another thing you'll do a lot after going into a proper relationship. )
