Advice needed.

Salam.
I recently somehow broke my Samsung S5's lcd panel. It was in my front pocket and apparently pressure from my mp3 device in the same pocket cracked the lcd panel, despite the plastic screen protector... anyway i wanted some advice...

i too want to recover data from it... photos contacts and notes... so i was wondering should i just get the LCD panel fixed... been quoted prices such as 14 for china and 15k for new proper lcd panel...(does anyone know who could do it cheaper??)

also for data recovery, would using Wondershare Dr.Fone be a smart idea.. especially if i could just get it fixed?

Or should i just accept this loss and move on?

any and all advice would be helpful.

S5s are going for 16-18k on market. Until you don't get it replaced it for around 8-10k, I don't think it would be worth it.

15k is an insane price for the screen of an S5. You're being ripped off. It shouldn't be higher than 6-7k.

Still not worth getting an old phone repaired, try and get your data off it by using an USB OTG cable or simply just connecting to your PC.

so the weird thing is i never kept a sd card inside because one of my sd's was broken by the s5 itself. (weird i knw)

Otherwise i connected the phone to the computer by USB but no access to the internal memory (which is kinda weird)... Hence i asked about the above recovery software... i dont want to use something like that and brick the phone...
To be perfectly honest i rather keep the s5 till it dies a slow death.. this lcd break has happened way before when i wanted to switch phones...

Does the phone have a Password/PIN/Pattern or fingerprint lock?
Cause if it does, you won't be able to access MTP (internal storage) until you unlock the phone.

Recovery software would also require the internal storage to be accessible.

Can you see the screen and not use it or can you use it but not see it?

The entire screen is gone. cant see or do anything... LED indicator works and so does the sound... I pulled the battery a couple of times.. so i know for a fact its on the SIM PIN screen... and besides that i have pin number screen lock... so yeah.. accessing it is would be an issue..

So what would you suggest?

Try getting the output of the S5's screen to a TV or something.

bro ask some repair shop to just attach lcd so you can transfer your data .. i did it once with s4 mini he costed me 1000 but I had my data recovered.
