A New Laptop

Hello People!

I need help from some technical gurus here ... I am looking to buy a new laptop that incorporates features like a Blue-Ray rom and a good GFX card.

My budget is maximum 120,000 but I want a laptop that delivers the best price/performance ratio. I also want some respectable gaming on the go hence consider this factor also.

So kindly give me suggestions regarding the above conditions. Thank You!!!!

Contact Annusaad and save some of your money. The last time I checked he had lappys like Mx15 and even 17.

You won't find any such thing here in Pakistan, its very hard and very rare. You'd most probably have to get it imported.

Here's something I found of Acer which support's your needs but a bit more expensive. It supports a BD drive and a good GPU :

Other good laptop's that do fall in your price but with one-step down on the GPU (but its still great) are:

Both of these include Blu-Ray drives with GT 540m GPU's but only the Sony and the one i mentioned above include full HD 1080p resolutions.

Well I was more interested in those Laptops that had Nvidia GTX560 in their spec sheet .... But it seems I have to sacrifice some of the features in order to get it..

Regarding finding these things in Pakistan, you are quite right about it. Seems I have to import one of these from abroad. By the Way, how is the Toshiba Qosmio series?? I have found mixed reviews for it on the internet...:/

No prob man, and yea i was actually also finding you a GTX 560M, the closest i could find was great $1350 one but $1250 with rebate.

And actually this Toshiba Qosmio is a pretty decent laptop for the price. The one that i mentioned first came out for $1700 but now its less than $1200.

Ali which site can be used to import Computer goods in pakistan as new egg is only for states and whats the procedure

Hmm... Dell XPS 17" is quite good but I would love to get my hands on Asus G series... They are awesome

Now I am really confused about whether I should buy a laptop or not.. Intel is going to release its IVY Bridge series of processors in late April and this has put me into a predicament that should I buy a laptop now or wait for third generation processors

I'd recommend waiting as I myself really do need a laptop but am gonna buy an Ivy bridge lappy when it comes out.
No website in particular ships to Pakistan themselves, you gotta contact import services here on PG.

One guy is fuggy that does it.
