A few World of Warcraft Questions.

Hey gamers,
I have recently caught interest in MMORPGs especially ...
*drumrolls*
World of Warcraft!
But I have a few Questions before hand:

Q1- Can I play the game with just the expansions like using just Cataclysm?
Q2- If not, Can I get the main game and only the latest expansion? Will I still get all the features or will I have to get all the expansions?
Q3- If I have to get all the expansions, in total (the main game + 3 expansions), how much GB will be used?
Q4-Do you guys 'pay' to play or use servers , If servers, which one so I can start playing with you all!

So that's it.
Before you guys be like: "Just Google it" or "Why don't you Google it" ,
know this, although I could have, I choose to rely on my brother-in and this forum then relying on tech.

Welcome to the forums, let me go through your questions one by one.

Q1) No, you need to have all the copies of the game
Q2) You probably can but some features might be disabled. For instance, you can play the game on Blizz servers with WOW, TBC and WOTLK, since you haven't bought Cata yet so all of the content and features included in that expansion will be disabled for you.
Q3) Don't know the current prices but you can check them up on play-asia.com
Q4) Yes, everyone playing on Blizz servers has to pay $15 per month. If you decide to play on private servers managed by teams other than Blizzard then its free.
Most of us are on Thaurissan - US Oceanic Realm which is a heavily populated Horde realm.

But you misunderstood me on the 3rd Q, I mean How much space will this consume? like 2GB, 5GB,10 GB(GigaBytes) like that
Also don't you guys have Alliance Realms? Just asking ^_^

about 30gb till patch 4.0.3a
if u wanna play on private servers with WoTLK expansion with 3.3.5a patch thn u gonna need abt 16gb of space...all realms have alliance and horde....wht asad bhai meant was tht its the most horde players...othr realms have less no. of horde

One Word WoW, I have been a fan and a player since last 3 years almost, but mostly played it on private servers.

For all who are in search for a proper working model of the Wrath of the Lich King, I would suggest giving a sneak peak to a server hosted here from Pakistan, URL www.wowimmunity.com (Brand New Server)
If you like the ping and everything, I can help you transfer your original characters to this server, we already have a good number of alliance members, but mostly no one is online since we dont have opponents.

For Cataclysm, we have launched a test server up to 25% running model, which is being upgraded to 4.0.6a as we speak, and you are more then welcome to give it a try as well, URL wowimmunity.sytes.net/cataclysm

For people living in Islamabad, I can offer a copy of the game for both WotLK 3.3.5a and Cataclysm 4.0.6a, but you would have to come down to F-8. Make sure you have 25-30 Gb disk space on your portable

PS. I know that all the other private servers might be loaded with population, but my only reason to put this up was to give a completely lag free gaming experience to my Pakistani Brothers

Bro i would suggest that you dont go into wotlk or cata crap initially.As a starter i would advise you to go for TBC version 2.4.3(8 GB total including patch and expansions).Why i am saying that because people usually miss half of the game's fun when they start directly from wotlk(And believe me i have seen people leave wotlk and switch to Tbc,they say its more satisfying).You see the joy of killing illidan and having the legendary warglaives of azzeroth cant be explained.In wotlk its quiet an easy feat but its the real deal in TBC.Also you can take on good high end bosses like Kil'Jaeden and the brutal Hyjal bosses.Why i am preffering it over wotlk,so you can enjoy and get experience on wow before switching to wotlk or cata.For a tbc server i would advise you to register at www.lastwow.com .Its the best Tbc server to date and has 2.4k players online max.

What you require are
Vanilla wow setup(simple wow)
The burning crusade(expansion setup)
After installing tbc you have to install 4(2.0.X to 2.4.3 patches linked in site below)
Total 8GB space consumption.

Well if you go towards the ending versions of WotLK, for say 3.3.3 or 3.3.5a, you would see that rogues have become more balanced towards races, specifically if you go about using Mutilate/subtlety Combo 44/2/25. As for of the starting the game from TBC, i would again disagree, since 3.3.5a was the last patch and even on certain private servers you can enjoy a complete gaming experience like the one i have hosted

Well it will be a waste of time to switch from tbc to wotlk. Why waste time on TBC server only becoz of bosses?
There r alot of other things that can satisfy ppl alot.
