Wow.. Love this thread. I've been obsessed with researching the better/best led's for the past 6 months, specially Samsung & LG.

I'm going to be on the owner's list very soon but currently stuck between 55LA6600 and 46F7500. Anyone seen them both side by side or atleast used any one of them in person, care to share thoughts?

Mephisto HAve any one tried any 3D games on their TVs? I have played uncharted 3. Though there was some ghosting (cross talking) in the game but still I enjoyed the beauty of the game in 3d. Anyone else faces this issue and any tweaks to eliminate the ghosting effects?

Good to know you like this thread - though I haven't been updating it as much as I wish to :(

I dont have much experience with LG, but I saw them at the shops. I personally like Active3D (Samsung/Sony) as opposed to Passive3D (LG) as it gives you a better quality image and 1080P 3D. Passive is what we see in our cinemas here, it's cheap as glasses don't cost much and it does not give eye strain/headaches/nausea, but you lose 3D quality. If you can handle the Active3D without feeling sick, its the way to go. The 7500 lineup is one of the best that comes out of Samsung.

However, out of the two TVs u mentioned, i'd be inclined to go for LG as the size is bigger. If you are solely focused on quality, then go for Samsung, if you want more immerse experience (bigger screen), go for LG. Passive3D isn't so bad that you should take it out of equation, they are still pretty good. Plus 70% or more would be used to watch 2D. :)

Yes, I've tried several 3D games and movies. And I absolutely love playing them.

But considering your case, I don't know how good 3D would be handled by PS3/X360. With my personal experience on Crysis3 3D via xbox, it wasn't so good; The game was too pixely. If you want 3D gaming, get a good PC.

Ghosting is 80% caused by the screen itself. The 6030 model you have, though good, is an entry level 3D screen. Some ghosting would be expected from it. One of the reasons I went for the 7 series was cuz it has almost 0% ghosting. It's just so freakin clear. The moment I saw it at HyperStar I made up my mind to buy this. Took 2 more months but I am glad I made the choice.

I don't know what settings can help with ghosting but try playing around with some in the menu. Maybe lower the 3D optimization. Also sit a little farther away from the screen.

I have a YLOD fixed PS3 lying here and I have the UC3 as well but they belong to a friend and I don't want to risk running this machine and seeing it crap out on my LOL! But im soooo tempted to see that game in 3D and give you a review. Might ask my friend to try it :p

I tried the 1tompo1 videos. They were incredible! *_*
I was literally amazed at the awesome 3D features of his video. It was completely popping out of the screen and was also making me involuntarily shake to prevent the gun shots and all that crap the guy shoots and throws at us in the videos. Mind blowing work!

Oh yeah it's freakin crazy... it's just sad why no movies or games utilize that kind of 3D - it's mind blowing!

Try out the LG demos on youtube too - they are good. There is one which includes footage from IMAX Under the Sea 3D and its just spectacular... heck download the complete IMAX Under the Sea 3D - you'll enjoy it!

I searched for IMAX under the sea 3D on kickass torrent and there are many files. One is 6.45 GB and the others are like 700MB, 900MB, etc. So hopefully the 6.45 GB file would give good results right?

Not sure... :(

But why would you want to go to service menu anyway? Just for the heck of it? :p - buy a replica samsung remote from the market (got myself a spare one from HallRoad Lahore). They are cheap and come in handy for regular and rough use.

Thats a great size - love 60" screens - I've added you on the list.

What do you use ur screen for mostly? 3D movies, 3D gaming?

@Mephisto

Thanks for adding me on the list.
I played wipeout game on 3D and it looks great and watched some movies.
Motionflow is something new to me and i am loving it.I have posted pics on my gaming setup pic thread. Please check it out.http://www.pakgamers.com/forums/f4/post-your-gaming-setup-pics-27845/index179.html

Dude that is one sick setup! Love the blue lighting - how'd u manage that? I was thinking of getting blue LEDs to glow on the back of my TV too. I got one red spool that I have installed in my PC. Though there is a lot left, red behind the TV wont look as cool as blue would.

Hehe - yes I did that too when I got my screen. I dont recall the panel but I do recall I was happy with what I saw :p

BTW - if you enter the service menu and quit, somehow the TV would refresh to all original factory settings. So if u've calibrated the screen, make sure you note down the settings before entering Service Menu.

And I am happy too with what I have seen. Got a remote for rs 250 from hall road, entered into service menu and the panel is Samsung's! :D I haven't calibrated it yet because of not getting much free time but pretty much happy with the out of box performance. What calibration scheme did you apply? I have read there are many calibration schemes available on net.

Nice - I guess what I was trying to find out is how are you powering them. They use 12V, so what I thought was to use an old PSU to power the LED lights, unless you have a convertor of a sort.

I looked for them online, look on AVSFORUMS regarding your specific model. Then fine tune to your preference!
