3.8MW solar energy plant installed at UAF would cost Rs3.17 per unit

A 3.8MW solar powered electricity generation plant worth more than Rs800 million has been installed at the Postgraduate Agricultural Research Station of the University of Agriculture here on Tuesday.

At a ceremony held here to inaugurate the plant that will start generation after about six months, UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmed said electricity to be produced from the foreign-funded project would cost Rs3.17 per unit on an average for the next 12 years.

it is actually a 5MW Installed capacity. UAF's requirement is 2MW, so 1.8MW will be used by the Fesco.

In other news, Solar streetlights have been installed from Scheme moor to Wadhat road.

Wow Chhowni
"For the next 12 years" :tv:

I will be surprised if it doesn't run into some serious maintenance problems within the next 2 years. Solar panels degrade quite rapidly in our climate, more so if they're of the mono/poly Si crystalline type.

we need a 1000 of these to run the country... there is so much free energy around that it is mind boggling but the "powers that be" will never let us get off organic fuel so that we remain their slaves... u.s estimated that their coasts have a potential of producing 4000GW(giga watts) with wind energy although they do not have any wind farms there but they are now thinking about it... absolutely free energy and we have a coast too... even our canal system can produce enough energy to provide for the whole country but moron and "jahil gawar" leaders do not know it even though it was proposed to them 20 years back...

we should have a 100 dams... and they are still talking about a 40 year old project... make something that is at another place if crap like that gets in the way... they don't as it takes atleast 10 years to make one and the next government would take the credit... they look for shortcuts to fool us... the problem is the 80% jahil gawar people of pakistan who re elect these morons... the 20% who know better, suffer(there are morons in that too so lets make it 10%)

I really doubt that, most manufacturer offer 25 years 80% output warranty.

Also certifications exist for reason too ;) Saline, Water, and wind rating etc

not even 100 dams can replace Kala Bagh's utility. China constructed Three Gorges Dam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, nearly 100 years after it was originally planned.

yeah, i know about the dam and that alone can supply our entire company... there is even a bigger dam in plans than that in africa... anyhow, rather than disputing, we can make dams at a lot of other places... when all the disputes are over or whatever, then we can make kala bagh dam but that is not the only place for a dam...

Three gorges is a 22.5GW dam, while our total demand is mere 22K MW at max in peak season :p

we need more dams, more wind farms (both on-shore and off shore).

I read somewhere that The three gorges dam currently operates at only 1/3th or 1/4th of its capability o_O. Is that true?

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
