just got the system update on my xbox..still didnt download it and dont know its safe or not...

Major Nelson has announced that a mandatory dashboard update will arrive on January 19th. This update adds a single feature, which you may find familiar. The update re-enables the option to boot into either the dashboard or whatever is sitting in your disc tray.Major Nelson also states that Xbox.com will also be updated on January 20th, changing the appearance of the official gamercards slightly. The "look and feel" have been updated and your gamerzone will no longer be listed.
but i think there is something fishy :D
anyone updated?

Xbox LIVE Dashboard update:

On Wednesday, January 19th we will issue a mandatory dashboard update that (re) enables the ’Boot to Disc’ option in the Xbox 360 dashboard. After you accept the update, you’ll be able to set the option to boot to the Xbox 360 dashboard OR directly to the game you have in the tray when you power up your console. This option can be found in the System Settings.

Xbox.com update:

Additionally, on Thursday January 20th the Xbox.com team will ship an update that contains a small update to the Gamercards. We’ve updated the Gamercard look and feel a bit and removed gamerzone from the card. Other than that, the same amount of information is on the card.

Most people may not notice these small changes but I know many of you appreciate knowing the details when we issue updates.

Ok Pirates do NOT update your dasboard. the 20th Jan update activated the AP2.5 check on games like cod mw2 and black ops so if you already updated then the games wont work. In order to fix this you need to patch ur game to work around the ap2.5 check :(

COD:MW2, HALO: REACH and COD:BO have been confirmed so far to have had an AP2.5 sector update since the new dash update. Now everyone putting off the LT+ patch due to 3 games only having AP2.5 can add 3 more games to the same list. LT+ is now a must for any COD loving pirate..... plus the pirate needs the inevitable new AP2.5 sector patch for the game. I love BOLD font btw :p

As I said, those 3 minute black screens are there for a reason: To protect you from getting flagged offline. As soon as you get the black screen, turn off your console. You won't get flagged...

Wait for some days, hopefully we'll get a response from the hackers.

No one could get banned man. Thats what I am saying, you'll get a black screen, preventing you from getting flagged offline. MS is doing shit with the updates, maybe they'll release weekly updates. But I think the problem could be solved by releasing newer patches for AP2.5 games.
