[h=1]‘Darksiders II’ Hooks ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Composer Jesper Kyd[/h]
The hype machine is already cranking hard for Darksiders II.
THQ and Vigil Games have taken everything we love about War’s adventure in the wastelands of planet Earth and have made some smart changes like adding a loot system and skill trees. This weekend, they also announced that they are taking a different direction with the soundtrack. Award-winning composer of the Assassin’s Creed series, Jesper Kyd, has signed onto the project.
It’s fitting. You know Death looms wherever members of Assassins Guild roam, whether the ancient cities of the Middle East or atop the intricately designed rooftops in Renaissance Italy. Every Templar killed and Borgia made to pay must face his grim persona.
Even if you haven’t traveled through the ages with Altaïr or Ezio, you are probably familiar with his extensive library, including the soundtracks of Borderlands, Hitman and Hitman 2, and Robotech: Invasion.
What’s that? You still don’t know his music (for shame!)? Thankfully, we’ve got you covered. Kyd’s “Venice Rooftops” track from Assassin’s Creed 2 made our list of the ten most epic video game tracks.
Darksiders II arrives on June 26, 2012 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
