  • burhan bhai i've 32" C series 4 right now if i'm jumping into 1080p bus then i should feel it as i've heard you cannot feel any diff b/w 720p and 1080p uptil 40"
I hope you were the first one to authenticate your copy of Diablo III. The key is clearly visible in your unboxing.
Ah right. Actually, that's what I felt as well. The pop-out effect was almost non-existent with PC games using 3D vision. The 'staring through a window' effect was still there, though. On a couple of forums, I noticed people suggesting Tridef 3D as a superior alternative. Tried it out, and there is definitely a difference. Not just in terms of depth, but also in terms of the pop-out effect. While still not as good as PS3 3D games, the effect was noticeable in games like Sonic Generations. I highly recommend giving Tridef 3D a try. It doesn't work well with all games, but when it works, it's definitely better than 3d vision.

    Salaam,

Hope you're doing well. Just wanted to ask how your experience has been with 3D gaming on the monitor, especially compared to your 3DTV. Do you notice a difference in the intensity of depth or the 'pop out' effect? Also, how would you compare the cross talk on both screens? Plus, what depth setting do you usually set for your PC games (in %age), when running with 3D vision on the monitor?
    then my search for a 3D monitor/tv continues :(

btw can u do a small experiment for me?if u have one of those hdmi to dvi cables lying around, why not plug ur 360/ps3 and check if 3d can be achieved that way.if it works then i can actually buy this monitor.oh and if u plan on shifting to the newer model of this monitor in not so distant future, maybe i can help u by buying ur current one :)

thanks for the review.i have been reading many reviews on the netz too and as much awesome this is,it also has few concerning flaws.for example it supports 120Hz input through DVI only meaning i cant get 3D with my consoles(which is concerning for me).also the brightness takes a MAJOR hit in 3D mode.also not a gud thing for gaming.

other than these, the glasses problem u said hold true for me too.i use those big ass RX-700 and they already irritate me a little with my prescription glasses.cant imagine what i will go through with those vision glasses.lastly there is this one small problem.since i plan on connecting all my consoles+PC at the same time,i dont have enough inputs.i need a VGA connector for my 360.mere thought of switching cables is scaring me :p

all in all...for me this monitor is less comfort and more hassle.120Hz smoothness alone cannot guarantee a purchase for me.unless i can find solution to some of the problems :)

    still congrats on ur purchase.
    Wsalaam,

First of all, congrats on getting the 3D monitor. (y)

I use Cyberlink Power DVD 12 for viewing 3D content. It converts SBS videos into frame sequential on-the-fly before outputting to the TV. It also has a browser that performs the same function for Youtube videos. Highly recommended.

P.S. Regarding your avatar/my profile pic - haha I guess a Drake resides within in all of us UC fans :D
Basically, if you can get a good deal on the EX720, then it is the best option out of the 3 TVs that you have mentioned, especially because it only has around 1 frame of input lag (good for competitive gaming), while the other two lag at around 2 frames (33ms).
    Wsalaam

lol nope, didn't mind at all. :)

Actually, you were right when you said that there is no 32" 3DTV that falls in the same price range as the VG236H. The EX720 is for 90K here in Pak (although if you can somehow get it imported it from the UAE, you can get it for 60-70K).

Alternatively, you can also tell the people at your local Sony Center to exclude the skype camera, bluray movies, and 3D glasses from the deal, which should bring the price down to around 70K. Then you can buy the playstation 3D glasses separately at a cheaper price.
32" 3D HDTV models available? Samsung 32D6530, 32D6500, Sony 32EX720 . Not available at the moment. 15 days eta to arrive
