enable both 5G and 2.4Ghz wifi nodes, but don't label them separately (don't even add an identifier that this is 2.4 and this is 5 - give them identical names with identical encryption etc) - that way, your devices will seamlessly roam between the two.
Android's default behavior for switching between APs is a bit weird as it tries to remain connected to one AP even if the strength has dropped significantly low so this tip while in theory sounds good but doesn't work as smoothly as it should. Can't say if iOS handles it differently.

I have similar issue. I have upgraded my ptcl broadband package to 30mbps from 15mbps. But downstream rate is exactly same as of 15mbps. Is 1212 helpline still works ? How should i rectify this ? The lineman claims that he can't do anything. What should i do ?

I think it depends on the phone - my phone doesn't do that.

But my work laptop did (it would always pick the farthest signal for some unknown reason).

I even tried reducing the power on the secondary router (the one that was upstairs, which the laptop was connecting to) but no dice. In the end, I blacklisted my laptop's MAC from the second router lol.

Could be the route to the CDN that's choked (or the CDN itself). Are other websites working fine?

I know Fastly (the CDN that hosts Reddit) in the Middle East or wherever is quite messed up. Sometimes the Singapore one is messed up. There's really no other way to bypass a CDN that's "closest" to your internet IP routing other than by using a VPN.

Are you able to access Amazon.com at normal speed? What about the BBC website? Al Jazeera? These are all hosted on different CDNs.

Yeah for now everything seems fine but will have to check again during peak hours.

It's a hit and miss with Reddit (or even Imgur) since both are served by Fastly.

Either PTCL finds a new route (which may not have the lowest latency) or Fastly fixes their servers (everyone, apparently, says Reddit is slow, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

PTCL's route to Asians servers like Singapore and Hong Kong is always quite inconsistent especially latency-wise in some games like Apex. Some days you get 300+ latency and sometimes around 100-120. VPNs usually fix it but I wonder why is it hard so hard for PTCL to find a consistent route to these servers.
Moreover, our browsing speeds are also quite average if we compare it to for example KSA where webpages load instantly even on public WiFi networks. PTCL has come a long way and their GPON service is good but they still have alot to improve.

Well...

The Middle East has internet filters as well.

I think Karachi might be better in terms of browsing speed (because their latency to the UAE is around 20-25ms). Pindi/Isb to UAE, at best, is around 40 ms.

And some companies have datacenters in the Middle East, but the ME has (fairly) good connectivity with Europe, so they have choices.

Otherwise, tbh, I can't say I've witnessed a drastic improvement. It helps with images but the difference between 20ms and 50ms isn't really noticeable. A bigger difference can be noticed between 100ms and 200ms, though.

There is a Bridge Connection in WAN settings on my ONT as well (ZTE F660). But I lack in networking skills so I would like some expert here to guide whether it is actually possible to use it along with IPTV and Landline.

UPDATE: So I created a WAN connection in bridge mode and connected TP LINK router (ZTE's LAN4 port to TP Link's WAN Port) and inserted PPPoE username and password but it wasn't connecting. Upon contacting 1218, the guy claimed 'sir bridge mode mein nahi chale ga sirf PPPoE mode mein hi chale ga aapka router'.
I was wondering if any one with Nokia or Huawei ONTs had any luck with it? If the router provides the option to do it then it is supposed to work unless PTCL is blocking it from their end somehow.

UPDATE 2: Good news, I managed to make it work. Credits to @topman11111 for pointing this feature out in PTCL's ONT though. Here are the steps I followed:

1. Login to your PTCL Router which is a ZTE F660 in my case. You can see the default username and password at the back of the router.
2. Navigate to Network > WAN > WAN Connection.
3. In the Connection Name dropdown, there should be an entry called 'omci_ipv4_pppoe_1', click that and you will see all of its details below configured by PTCL.
4. Now check you VLAN ID and note it somewhere.
5. In Connection Name dropdown, click Create WAN Connection. After that, input any Connection Name you want, now here is the IMPORTANT STEP, check the VLAN ID box and enter the ID you noted in STEP 4. Leave the 802.1p to default. Now for the Connection type, select BRIDGE CONNECTION. Click Create to save it.
6. Under the same Network tab, go to LAN > DHCP Port Binding. In this tab, change the LAN 4 to WAN. Click Submit. This is the port you will connect your other router to, so we have disabled DHCP for this port.
7. Go to DHCP Binding tab in WAN. Select the connection you created earlier in Step 5 and check the LAN4 option. I am not sure if it makes any difference but I did it anyways.
8. Go back to WAN Connection tab and select the 'omci_ipv4_pppoe_1' connection. Now you have to disable this connection by unchecking Enable VLAN option. After you save it, you will loose internet access as the router is in bridge mode now.
IMPORTANT: Note down the the Username mentioned here. Password should be 'ptcl' by default without the quotes.
9. Connect your other router like this:

PTCL Router LAN 4 -> Other router WAN Port

10. Turn the other router on, set it to router mode if it isn't by default. Now go to it's WAN settings and from their you have to select Connection type as PPPoE. Insert the username and password you noted earlier in Step 8 and click Connect.

Leave the IPTV and the Landline connected to your PTCL router and connect any other devices you want with your new router.

YOU HAVE TO REPEAT STEP 8 EVERYTIME YOUR PTCL ROUTER IS RESTARTED as the router resets to default PTCL's config. Mine is connected to the UPS so it almost never turns off.

THATS IT! Enjoy your OpenWRT Routers and all that cool stuff now.

NOTE AND DISCLAIMER: If anything goes wrong and you can't get back the internet, just reboot the PTCL router, it should be back to its default config. I won't be responsible for any issues regarding your internet.
its not working for me on my ztef670l
every time i choose bridge and save and when i went to port binding it goes back to default routing instead of bridge

I recently got upgraded to FlashFiber and was given the F670 ONT. I was using smart tv over wifi with VDSL connection but with this ONT the landline guy said Smart Tv only works over LAN and i will have to connect a lan cable ( which will be a hastle because my Tv setup is far away from modem). So is there a way to make Smart Tv work over wifi ? ( without adding another router )

I think you should only use cable now, it's a good thing, that means your network will not be flooded with unnecessary packets all the time, also your mobile and battery devices will last longer time because of it. you can enable igmp spoofing but it's a ptcl device, probably not that feature rich.
if you still bent on using wifi, there may be an option in interface grouping. check the interface iptv is using and then add the wifi to the bridge.

PTCL has improved on VDSL or its still the same? I am planning to install a back up internet at home. I already have nayatel but I want one more internet as my requirement is a bit more. i dont want to increase nayatel as its not worth it with unlimited option of 1.5TB whereas I get unlimited in nights

PTCL's Huawei and Alcatel ONTs can't be put in to bridge mode. Only the ZTE ones can as far as I know, and even that is unofficially supported. PTCL doesn't offer bridge mode at all on FTTH.

Even if you manage to do so, the OLT will re-write the config and revert whatever changes you've made.

did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!
