Watch Dogs Legion also launched with forced RT + 30 FPS on consoles but they patched a 60 FPS mode with lesser RT not too long after release. They should do the same here for people who want the option.

Legion made far more cut backs than just removing RT for 60fps though.

We don't know if removing RT will automatically make it a stable 60fps in Gotham Knights. I mean, Plague Tale can't do 30fps even with RT.

But I agree with pasha, Gotham Knights atleast in the trailers doesn't look all that of a leap over Arkham Knight, which still looks brilliant on PC.

Both SX and the potato are able to maintain a very solid 40 FPS in the 40fps/120hz mode. There is a decent amount of overhead over 30 FPS and with some settings management and a dynamic resolution Plague Tale should hit 60 FPS as well.

But otherwise Plague Tale isn't reliably hitting 4K/60 on 2080Ti (Skill Up review) so it's a very heavy and equally un-optimized game.

Oh bhae I mean abhi to RT hai hi nahi aur 60fps phir bhi nahi hai. Its not even 4K in 30fps mode. So maybe turning RT off isn't the magic switch in every game

With DLSS I'm easily doing 60fps at Ultra

Plague Tale mai to abhi RT hai hi nahi, so its a 'simpler' case for the lack of a better word.

Gotham Knights ka pata nahi if it has RT as part of the pipeline like Metro EE. But it doesn't look anything special, in some screens/videos it looks worse than Arkham Knight even.

First FSR 2.0 game on console, Series X matches PC version's max preset and FSR 2.0 in Quality mode.

practically locked 60fps on Series S

some scenes, like the opening sequence drops framerate to 43fps on Series X

combat and some areas drops frame rate to the 50s

FSR2 might be responsible for performance drops

computational costs might be large for consoles at 50fps

Series S outperforming Series X. Ooof. Looks like even using basic upscalers have a performance cost not every developer is willing to sacrifice.

Series S is "virtually locked 60fps". Pretty clear which console is actually punching above its weight and which is crumbling.

"Top tier PC experience" isn't limited to 60fps or 1440p

Its FSR 2.0 so it has alot of issues. The game isn't demanding at all so there isn't any need to use it unless you have low budget hardware that can't even do 60fps.

FSR is for visuals and resolution scaling bhai, and this is matching it at 98% locked 60 FPS with only a few drops.

Xbox Series X presents nigh-on identically to the PC version running FSR 2 quality mode at 4K,

More importantly this is the first console game to use FSR 2.0 and it works really well.

FSR 2.0 to har jagga same hoga na bhae. He is using similar resolutions to confirm that Series X was indeed also using FSR 2.0.

And clearly FSR 2.0 has a performance cost here, which is why Series S isn't using it and is better for it in terms of locked 60fps experience without ghosting issues.

FSR 2 can be particularly expensive and it's possible that it could take several milliseconds to compute per 4K frame on Series X. Within a 16.7ms frame, that's a pretty big chunk of time, which could explain why Series X falls behind Series S in performance despite only a moderate uptick in raw pixel count.
