Chromattic Abberation is the worst effect ever and I wish console versions of games had the option to disable it.

I turned down Shadow and View distance setting to aim for a locked 75fps (occasional dips still persist but mostly silky smooth) and disabled mouse acceleration and smoothing. Can't stress how big of a difference it made. I've no major complaints from the movement responsiveness and aiming now. Its much more tolerable than before to the point that I'd say its pretty decent now. To put it in context, the gunplay/movement doesn't feel as good as Fallout 4 but its better than both the Deus Ex games.

Anyone did the graveyard fee collection side quest? It was quite interesting.

Yes, the quest ends with you saying "i'll keep an eye for Eugene's grave". I scanned the graveyard but didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Not sure if there's anything more to follow up (the quest was completed) or it was just a passing remark.

Chandoo which path did you choose?

Spoiler: show
Redirect power to
Edgewater or
Botanical garden?

I was gonna choose Botanical garden but Parvati convinced me otherwise at the last minute.

A lot of people are saying this feels a lot more like Mass Effect than Fallout, I'm still on the first zone and just finished the first companion mission. But that comparison sounds pretty exciting to me.
Yep, it does.

You have a ship a la Normandy
You gather a crew
Navigate to planets on a galaxy map
Pick 2 of your crew members to accompany you when you land on a planet (this screen is designed exactly like in Mass Effect)

Went in expecting to side with the garden. Parvati made a pretty compelling point so gave power to edgewater.
Adelade was pissed and said she'll only return of Reed is out of the picture.
talked to reed and persuaded him to resign without any bloodshed, adelade is happy, everyone returned to Edgewater and I am at max reputation with both factions now.

Putting all my points in the dialog trees is paying off big time lol.

Exact same situation here.

Dialogue skills are making the game feel too safe. Wonder how a replay with chaotic outcomes would unfold.

Also, is it just me or Dr. Mfuru sound like Dennis Haysbert? Lambert from Splinter Cell.

Started playing this on ps4 (eff you game pass).

The aiming/shooting is pretty bad; they probably had to add the slow-mo ability to compensate for this lol. But yeah, this is basically Fallout New Vegas 2 in a sci-fi setting. As is the case with Obsidian's other games, player agency is the TOW's strongest aspect.

Played for a couple of hours last night and really enjoyed it. I didnt read up on the Mass Effect comparison but it was definitely the first thing that came into my mind as soon as In entered the area where that space ship is parked. There are some major ME vibes to this game.

I never played Fallout: New Vegas so cant comment on how it fares with it but one thing that definitely matches with Fallout in general is the clunky combat mechanics. I agree with @Necrokiller, its serviceable at best. But I guess its easier to look past combat in games of this sort. As usual with every other RPG I play, I am wandering the map for secondary quests and completely ignoring the main quest line. This is the reason I love RPGs. I have made 2 mistakes at the very beginning, invested a huge chunk in combat and started on normal difficulty. I think I can respec the ability points but no too sure about difficulty though. Normal difficulty seems to be leaning towards easy so I might crank up the difficulty settings to hard if the game allows it.

Also is it just me or does it feel that the game re-uses alot of resources ? I mean there are alot of places that feel the exact or somewhat close to the exact copy of the something that you have seen earlier as well.

Shotguns and melee weapons are the worst offenders.

No not just you. Every new area I've visited so far has had copy pasta repetition from the general layout of a planet down to smaller rooms.

I have played until the first settlement section. Lots of choices and far more decent writing than I expected. Good stuff.

Parvati is such a great character. As dated as the visuals look in most places, Obsidian has done a great job with subtle facial expressions in dialogues. Of course it would fall flat if not for Obsidian's strong characterization and writing. Hard to believe that the same voice actor played the sterile role of Aloy.

Spent around 2 hours wrapping up all the odds and ends on the Groundbreaker.

It's basically a ghetto version of the Citadel, lol. I thought the galaxy map had very few zones but you go back to different areas on the same planets too, so it seems like there's a good amount of 'areas' to explore in the game.

Also, the whole Parvati and Jin sub plot is probably some of the best written romance in all of gaming, the bar-scene was pretty good.

All areas are pretty small though and thats disappointing. Not a whole lot to find and discover outside the settlements either. Couple of "planets" on the map are literally just a few rooms.

Just reached Monarch and 'collected' all the quests in the main settlement.

I am not a big fan of melee but god damn, who in their right mind would design a shotgun of this sort. Not only is the shotgun spread stupid, the damage the shotguns do is laughable to say the least.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
