told you so. I specifically requested to talk to their engineer but was told to email and i asked them to call me or even visit me if they want but ..... yeah disappointed . Have a felling i will have to make time and visit ther office. I was specifically told by their chief that peak time congestion is not a problem with them as they are a wholesale provider manage their own cable blah blah

Do you face high latency after 8 PM?

I do, but it lasts like an hour mostly, and the high pings are between the ONT and the gateway in Karachi. I ran a trace route and while ping to the gateway is normally 25 ms, it goes up to 195 ms during these periods of congestion.

I emailed them about it, since it's been happening only for the past 2 days. Let's see what they say.
We on nayatel are also on that same omantel route and im pretty sure 8pm to 9 10 pm there is massive bandwith choking on that route one of my Karachi friend using tes also experience high ping / packetloss at the same time I started having it

AWS is Amazon Web Services. I believe Fornite uses AWS.

I don't play BF1 anymore, but BFV Open Beta I was getting like 40 ms on Middle East servers as well (non-peak hours).

When my pings go insane at night, the trace routes show where it's fucked up, but it goes back to normal eventually so I have to suffer with 400 ping for a bit, and then back down to 110.

*silently laughs in PTCL* - when I had Nayatel, they'd hae messed up pings as well on TW1 routes. Traffic within Nayatel would be alright, or if something was accidentally routed via PIE, but TW1? It wasn't in their control (which it isn't). It's at TW1's end.

I read about buffer bloat somewhere else - but that shouldn't happen with fiber/upstream providers and international links.

*silently laughts in PTCL* , c'mon man. lol

So did they get better at it after we shifted to TES? lol, I emailed PTCL support on 30th July and asked them for GPON connection else I'd disconnect in two months time. Got a call from them about a week ago telling me if I had emailed them about GPON, I was like that was almost two months ago and you are responding now? Anyhow, had already disconnected and told them the reason for it being GPON non-availability. Apparently, the ticket gets up on priority or something after 2 months in PTCL system.

Its a strange and chaotic scene these days at the local PTCL Exchange. I see GPON stuff everywhere in their vehicles. The staff has gotten extremely non-interested and lazy. TES unfortunately does not have a Telephone line so still stuck with PTCL's crappy noisy phone line that no one comes to fix but 1236 AUTO "THEEK HOGAYA HAI" keeps calling several times a day, no one shows up on the door to fix.

TW didn't offer you landline?

Their sales guy said they're offering landline through NTC, with a 051-9xxxxxx landline number.

The sales guy did mention it but don't think its for general Home use. NTC can't possibly give Home users the same Government number scheme? plus their Support says its not available yet. Also in the dark about their rates.

Transworld dead for anyone else?

I called them up and emailed them a speedtest, and the guy said they're facing some 'backend' issues, and that's causing poor service for most ISB users.

Just logged in, have not noticed anything yet.

Phase 5 Bahria entrance, right turn before DWatson, Nayatel did some dig ups again. Hope they didn't or don't end up cutting the fiber...

Mines back to 70/70 as well.

They fixed it pretty quickly.

Transworld is finally here in my area in Lahore at last. I placed the order on Friday after meeting up with their sales team. They said you're one of the first ones to pay upfront for the service, for which they'll be providing 2 months free internet. I just wanted to confirm, how long do they take to install the service at premises? I ordered 20Mbps package btw. They did mention 7 working days (excluding Saturday & Sundays), so wanted to confirm with you guys.

Also, I wanted to check in what kind of ONT are they providing to end users? Is it good enough for handling WiFi traffic or do I need to get a better route? I currently have a TP-Link WR841-HP router, which gives pretty decent coverage all over the house. Would it be possible to link it wirelessly with the ONT for providing blanket WiFi coverage?

I placed an order for mine sometime in the beginning of August, and they offered to install it before Eid, however I told them to come after, they decided that 24th was suitable and arrived at exactly 11 AM and installed everything within 2 hours and left. Normally they promise 14 days, however seeing as they've said 7 days to you, you'll probably get it in the time frame that they've promised.

For 10, 20 and 30 Mbps connections, it's the Huawei HG8245H (Single band), and for 50, 70 and 100 Mbps, it's the Huawei HG8245Q2 (Dual band), WiFi sucks on both. So you're better off disabling the WiFi on the ONT, and just using your own TP-Link router for coverage. As for your second question about blanket coverage, it's possible with a custom firmware on the TPLink router, however wirelessly bridging 2 devices over 2.4 GHz is a bad idea.

You mentioned that WiFi sucks on this, do you mean the throughput or the signal strength?

Both. Especially over 2.4 GHz. In fact when the TW guys who installed my connection came to test it, they were only getting like 25 Mbps down (on a 70 Mbps connection), so I said it's cause of the WiFi, I connected an ethernet cable and got a full 70 over a wired connection, so they left. I disabled the ONT WiFi and use my own router instead.

Signal strength is garbage cause it has small 2 or 3 dBi internal antennas.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Phil keeps talking about breaking barriers to gaming, making it accessible on all platforms yada yada, while killing competition and creativity at the same time. the fact that i actually believed him for a second lol

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

MS one upping Sony in catching the biggest L in gaming
tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
