Rise of the Tomb Raider will be released Nov. 10 on Xbox One, developer Crystal Dynamics announced during Microsoft's E3 2015 press briefing today.
Crystal Dynamics announced Rise of the Tomb Raider as a timed exclusive for Xbox during the latter company's Gamescom 2014 press briefing. The game is also in development for Xbox 360, but that version is being made by Nixxes Software; it's unclear if the Xbox 360 version will be released at the same time as Xbox One.


Rise of the Tomb Raider game director Brian Horton played a live gameplay demo during the show, featuring Lara and a companion scaling icy cliffs with climbing gear. You can watch it above.

They clearly mentioned it is XO exclusive for holiday this year only! PC version may still live!

yeah saw the gameplay on ms conference, it kinda felt like the original lara etc... but still good to have more tomb raider :)

What about a PS4 version ? If my memory serves me right it stated "XBOX Exclusive / Holiday 2015"... To me it just gives an impression that its a timed exclusive that will come on the PS4 next year.

The gulf between TR and UC has further increased by the reveal of the latter's latest iteration. Crystal Dynamics needs to freshen things up in a big way to leave a mark in today's industry.

What a snooze fest they chose as the demo. The bits of gameplay at the end seemed far more interesting.

It's a timed exclusive will come to pc i guess not ps4

I believe they have used the word "timed" because it is scheduled for the PS4, whenever that may be. If it were only releasing on Xbox and PC, then might as well just label it as a console exclusive.

tHAT RESULTS IN IMPATIENT CUSTOMERS GOING TOWARDS SALES ON THE FIRST PLATFORM AVAILABLE. HENCE, IT WOULD APPEAR THAT X1 IS GIVING MORE SALES TO MULTIPLAT OVER A GAME'S LIFE CYCLE. MORE SALES =MORE GAMES LANDING FIRST ON X1 =MORE X1 SALES.

    You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
