[h=2]New Rise of the Tomb Raider footage finally shows some sweet, sweet tomb raiding[/h]

Lara Croft certainly killed a good number of people in the Rise of the Tomb Raider footage shown during Microsoft's press conference at Gamescom, but today Microsoft has released the full 13-minute demo from the show with an emphasis on the actual raiding of the tombs.
While violence may make more of an impression on the big stage with those big screens in front of a wide audience, this video shows the game many of us want to play, filled with wonder and exploration.

Croft "fighting" the environment and using her wits to survive in these trying situations is a much more interesting way to sell the character, but it requires a bit more time and buy-in from the viewer.
Also, if you'll allow us to gush about the graphics for a moment? The game looks really, really good.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is a timed Xbox One exclusive, and will be released on Nov. 10, 2015. The game will then come to the PC in early 2016, and will hit the PlayStation 4 in the 2016 holiday season.

Raiding tombs in Syria [Gamescom demo]

Heavy on set-pieces and QTEs. I hope the game is designed around raiding tombs and the action segments spring up as a result of it. Because it was largely secondary to the previous game which relied more upon survival than actual exploration. The name 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' strongly hints there will be a lot more focus on raiding tombs.

I really don't mind the apparent linear nature of this game. There are way too many open-world titles these days.

Loved the GC demo... Albeit a little too heavy on QTE's but i guess this is an early part of the game where it might make sense. Nevertheless this is turning out to be pretty good much better than i initially thought from the E3 demo.

What have they done to her face. She went from Asian to creepy to a full blown retarded look in this one. Her expressions look very strange to me, completely unnatural.

[h=2]Rise of the Tomb Raider gets $150 Collector's Edition with 12-inch Lara Croft figure[/h]

Rise of the Tomb Raider will be available in a Collector's Edition featuring a 12-inch figure of heroine Lara Croft, Square Enix announced today.
The package will be available in North America for $149.99, in Europe for €139.99 and in the U.K. for £109.99. Included in the box is a retail copy of Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One, which comes in a Steelbook case; a replica of Lara's leather-bound in-game journal; a model of Lara's jade necklace; and a 12-inch statue of Lara in the same pose she strikes on the cover of the game. You can see an image of the contents below.

Rise of the Tomb Raider's Collector's Edition is similar to the Collector's Edition for 2013's Tomb Raider, which included an 8-inch Lara figure designed from Play Arts Kai. That package cost $99.99 — in other words, Rise of the Tomb Raider's Collector's Edition contains a figure that's 50 percent taller, and the set is 50 percent more expensive to match.
As of now, the Collector's Edition for Rise of the Tomb Raider is available for pre-order only from the Tomb Raider Store (for North American customers only) and the Square Enix Store (in North America and Europe).

[h=2]Rise of the Tomb Raider will have a season pass, according to Xbox leak[/h]

Rise of the Tomb Raider will be the latest title to receive new content in the form of a season pass, as seen on the Xbox website. A listing for the season pass is now live.

Strangely, a release date of Oct. 11 is given, although the game itself won't launch until Nov. 10. The listing also includes details as to what the season pass will offer.

Purchasing the pass will provide "a range of content that will extend your single-player campaign" over the course of four months, the listing reads, while also offering new multiplayer options.
The DLC will feature three primary additions, according to the Xbox page. These are a survival-based Endurance Mode; exploration of an "ancient terror" in Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch; and Cold Darkness Awakened, which pits you against "infected predators."
Along with these new modes, the season pass will regularly roll out weapons, outfits and Expedition Cards over the course of its run.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will be available on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Publisher Microsoft has not yet confirmed the DLC. We have reached out to a representative for comment and will update with more as we receive it.

Microsoft recently announced a bundle that will come with an Xbox One console and a copy of the game just in time for the holiday season.
Take a look at Lara Croft in action in this gameplay preview.

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
