damn i really like Acson's 1.5tons inverter AC but it costs more than a lac  i knw it will save money in the long run but the initial cost is too much and i cant convince my father to buy it. guess il buy it next autumn when its hopefully below 1lacs

ye AC ki bill itna Q ata ha... :p
BRO AC ko >> 26 << par lagaya karo - PHIR savings hoti hein - and the electricity bill is always then affordable - on 26 AC does not consume much ELECTRICITY its the best savings mode

normal 1.5tons split ACs operate on 7.5-8 amps when the compressor is on. inverter ACs start with that but gradually lower their consumption to around 2.5-3amps stable. this process is depended on cooling settings and room temps so you can imagine the amount of saving u can have with them.
Inverter ACs do have their weakness, since they lower their consumption gradually therefore they are most useful in areas where load-shedding is minimal. for example in my area we get 4 hours of load-shedding and its occurs only during early morning or midday so when i use it at night, its going to give me maximum saving over the 6-7 hours of constant usage. now if someone lives in an arena where load-shedding is 12hours a day, then the AC will run at full capacity all the time since it only has a hour long usage at a time. that results in almost zero savings compared to a normal AC.

but why is the price so high?

lets say if the bill is now 10,000 how much saving is expected after installing this AC?

price is hight becoz its a expensive technology atm and our ever so sincere shopkeepers don't want to cash-in on the product(sarcasm). u can get same ACs from other brands like orient and gree for 80k but those are only good for 3-5years if one is careful which is just not enough time to cover the premium amount of them ACs.

its almost impossible to accurately calculate the exact saving due to irregular load-shedding and extreme temps here in Pakistan but theractically its suppose to consume 50-60% less than regular units. translate that into real world scenario then its somewhere in 40-45% that too if the usage at a time is more than 3-4hours.

Yar inverter ac is just a marketing thingy. It will be efficient but not as much as its advertised. I was seeing a GREE add n it said "pankhay ki tarha chalayen" meaning its consumption will be as low as a fan which is highly doubtful.
Anyway what is econavy, energy saver n other similar things! There is a dawlence ac which shopkeeper r selling saying it runs even on low voltage.
Plz someone put us wise on that.
About GREE someone is getting inverter ACs for 88k in this peak season, r there any different versions of inverter ACs?
Yar honestly market is full of shit loads of stuff n everyone has a different spec sheet. I say we can only test an efficient ac by checking its amps while its running. If someone has done any such experiment n testing I'll be glad to see that. Khaki specifications means nothing to me. When an ac cools I can't see any energy saving I just feel chill so how to feel good also :)

How Inverter based AC's work

plz someone technically explain what is inverter ACand how it saves energy bills
Normal AC:

When the desired temperate is achvied, the compressor trips off and goes to rest. After some time, the temp starts to rise again, so the compressor kicks back in. This kicking back in is a very power hungry action that draws a lot of load and hence contributes the most to the electricity bill.

Inverter based AC:

When the desired temperate is acheived, the compressor does not completely shut off. It slows down instead, drawing a very minimum amount of current. it is still consuming some electricity but compared to the several "kickstart" events of the normal compressor, it will still consume much less eletricity in a day's operation.

This technology does indeed save up to 30-40 percent bills. Hope this helps.

Sounds good, hope the inverter based ACs get cheaper so they are affordable...

2 questions:

1. If the voltage is low, does it impact the inverter based AC's consumption?
2. someone told me that they are running their 1.5 ton AC on single phase for around 10-12 hours per day and their bill comes to around 4-5k per month, is it possible? because as far as I know AC can only run on 3 phase meter.

Karachi.
^ AC can run on 1 phase as long as its not too energy consuming. Else circuit breakers could trip and lines may overheat.
But I am not sure about the billing. Isn't it better to have 3 phase to reduce bills because of how it is charged? (low units on a phase = less money per unit, more units on a phase = more money per unit).

I was here to ask a question: I need an AC for a 10'x10' room. There is not much furniture in that room, just a small bed, an AC, and some gym equipment. The ceiling is quite high (12'). Please recommend an Inverter based AC.

this is just a marketing tactic which most people doesnt understand
It mean like we use regulator to slow down or increase fan speed. this a.c compressor slow down when desirable temperature achieved and boost up when tempp increase, not completely shut down and kickstart. not that it consume energy like a fan

1 ton would be fine, acson is a fine brand. Gree is 2nd to that

dawlance inverter based Units doesnt work on solar panels

Cerberus inverter is a nice technology but its price is not justified. For me its very high and is just selling for its NAME. What is econavy type of energy saving ACs by other brands?

opethian yes nice technology but good only on continuous use or on solar panel

Check Pel Desire series A.Cs 1ton consume only 4.6amp max, 1.5 ton only 6.6 amp max. Price is also fine 35000 and 50000 respectively
but they are short in market, I went to buy but couldnt find
