There seem to be a lot of confusing posts in this thread :/ Let me just start with a post above.

Religion teaches us moderation? Forget the extremely strict dress code (contrary to men's), just take a look at this little part here about who women can hang around:

If we follow the above, the 'joint family system' we have over here that we are usually so proud of, can't exist. My brother's wife can't be around me the same way my sister or mother or aunt can. Nor can women attend marriage ceremonies all dressed up (since its a given there will be people besides the ones mentioned above there).

In my opinion, moderation is a combination of the understanding of the religious law, and then transforming and adjusting it in a way that it can be followed in whichever society or time you live in. You simply CAN NOT follow most of the rules given by the religion in certain regards.
I think its pretty stupid how 'religion' is overcredited for literally nothing. It's like saying that if something works someones way, well then its due to religion, and if something doesn't work, then still its due to religion.

Religion didn't teach me to talk respectfully to my father, or my mother, or even any other stranger of any other religion. The fact that people over-hype about this 'religion' thing really does piss me off. And it's not ironic to listen to such claims from only the people of Pakistan, it's rather now become obvious. At least goray are better in this regard, if not anything else.

You wanna get hunted by TTP? :tv:

Man, tbh, the world would be a much better place if these things weren't here. I think the human race right now has a pretty good idea of morality and what's right and what's wrong, but its considered blasphemy to even think that we can exist without religion (even though most people are, even here, without realizing it).

I don't know about the "world would be a much better place" part. I think it would be a better place, but humans are humans...and we fuck things up anyway. Other than that I completely agree. Humanity has progressed, there really is no longer a true need for religion.

But let us not derail this thread (which btw has fulfilled it's purpose)

In a joint family setup, SIL should be careful about her dressing sense. In a (non) joint family setup, SIL can dress as she may please in home.

Nor can women attend marriage ceremonies all dressed up (since its a given there will be people besides the ones mentioned above there).
Islamic wedding have different ground realities then Indian wedding. In Pakistan, Indian wedding traditions are common occurrence and these traditions should be abolished for the greater good of the society because these traditions are too expensive.

Shaadi phe 5-10 lac kharach kar dia aur guarantee koi nahin ke shaadi kaamyaab ho gi, yeh kahan ki aqalmandi hai? Aur females ghair mardoin ke samne naach rahin hoon, yeh bhi kahan ki aqalmandi hai?

In an Islamic wedding, nikah takes place in a masjid. Women and Men are separated in their seating arrangements within the masjid. On next day, their is walima to make the marriage official to the world. Once again, women and men are separated in their seating arrangements. No music, vulgarity and unnecessary expenses to be made. Simple, affordable and decent wedding tradition.

Religious laws are not rocket science to adhere to, common sense is needed to understand them.

Pakistan is a nation of serious identity crises: Indian culture; Western culture; Islamic culture; Jahalat culture - all jumbled up.

Religion didn't teach me to talk respectfully to my father, or my mother, or even any other stranger of any other religion. The fact that people over-hype about this 'religion' thing really does piss me off. And it's not ironic to listen to such claims from only the people of Pakistan, it's rather now become obvious. Islam teaches us manners actually, siblings are encouraged to be respectful to their parents in an Islamic society. Such recommendations are in Quran and hadith.

Islam represents a complete way of life for people.

Since we're on the subject of morality there's an upcoming show called The Leftovers it's about how 3 years ago the rapture happened and only 2% of the world population disappeared and it was across all religions and people who are not religious and across morality like babies disappeared as well as rapists, murderers disappeared so everything has become invalid. And people are just continuing with society.

Man, that is one dope premise. It's on HBO so that's a lot of cred right there it's also Damon Lindelof so maybe don't watch it for answers.

Thought I bring it on all y'alls radar.

You have already broken 10 rules, but I like to give a warning first so that you don't start Abuses will lead to baning about it later.

Mind your language, all of us here know how to use abuses and vulgar language, but are showing restraint.
I expect you to do the same.

@neox3d : Please try not to push other people aswell
I tried to MAKE a point if my opinion OFFENDS you so much maybe it'd be better off, if you banned me anyway.

Do you not see everyone else here making a point without abusing and using vulguar language? Am I warning them?
Your opinion is not the problem, your tone, choice of words and language is the issue here.

its because all these religions are here to guide human kind to make them civilized , and yet why you forgot that crisis in most of countries are not because of religion but because of corruption and for that exact reason the religions are exist . Well i agree that religion or not (as i by my self is almost frungi) but it entirely depend on human , even if i don't pray much but i died as good person who did good for others and didn't hurt anybody , so yeah its a good life i had .

The religion is failing then, because in a country like Pakistan (where religion is forced down every throat), we get these extremist and corrupt groups in every walk of society
I mean western society has progressed the most due to basic education and technology.

The issue, imo, is that religion's path is being directed by outdated and old mullahs sitting in THE KINGDOM.
for this point I would like to point out a small saying
Imam Ali ibn Abi talib said: “Do not raise your children the way your parents raised you; for they were created for a time other than your time.”
These are golden words to stick to, that things change and so does the mentality and circumstances.

I agree with you.
But then the topic becomes, who draws the line??
who gets to decide. If left to personal choice, then the matter gets convoluted

kal main yehi kehne wala tha :DD but left it so that koi other is ajeeb topic ko aagy barhaaye...so conclusion: maybe there is no well-defined term such as "moderation",absolute moderation exist ni krti...paradox :DDDDD

Anywhere in the world :p
This thread has had more views in a week then most threads have in a year.

Are we really all showing our deepest fetishes here ?

From Mullahs to Liberals, everyone has been fascinated by a simple question...

Which brings me to another question....

Is having a fetish for something good ? :D

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
