Of course it was inevitable but DAMN, can't wait to see what Yamauchi does on the PS4.

"We don't want to take too long on Gran Turismo 7," Kazunori told us. "Best-case scenario? Next year. In GT6 we really had to tune the software 100 per cent to maximise the PS3's architecture, but of course the PS4's hardware is much better, so I think the overall quality of the game across the board will be boosted when you come to play it".

So what about Forza? Is Kazunori and his team concerned about his chief rival? "We always respect our competition," he says. "The racing genre isn't really that big in its entirety, so I'm glad that everyone works hard to boost the genre as a whole."
There's no-one better suited to direct a racing sim than a guy who races himself.

The man knows his games, clearly - so much so he practices every day on Gran Turismo 6 with a three-screen setup. Largely to help him do his other job: racing in the VLN. "We've set up my car on GT6 exactly the same as the car we take to the Nürburgring [a Lexus IS-F]; suspension, aero, even the rear wing angles." This is expert level geekery in action, though it comes with good reason: Kazunori's actually quite terrified of the ‘Ring.
"It's such a dangerous track, I get scared every time I race around it. Cars crash and burst into flames, launch into the air, it happens all the time. It's more of an adventure than a race sometimes."

He's even had his own adventure too; one that draws a painful parallel. "In the VLN once I crashed on the same corner that Niki Lauda crashed on all those years ago. We had three cars lined up next to each other, going in at around 220km/h (137mph), and the cars just hit each other. I swung off into a wall." Luckily, Kazunori was OK, but his IS-F, erm, wasn't.
All we gotta pray for is for the PS4 to support Logitech Wheels like the G25 and G27. (Please PP, please continue support for these).

release date...sometime in last 3 years of console's life cycle

but srsly after the development hurdles, lack luster reception of GT5 and almost total annihilation by a competitor, i never thought Sony would green lit GT6 let alone THIS! they must be really desperate

Do a bit of homework. GT sells better than anything for Sony.
GT5 was a buggy mess at release but damn has it improved since then. Best supported title IMO.

And its Yamauchi dude. He's a perfectionist and a magician. And he's yet to disappoint me.
PS: GT5 is my most played game on the PS3.

Here's a funny fact:

GT5 sold as much as the entire Forza series did.

I guess we know where the green light came from?

"Annihilated" :lol:
lol. Talk about being over-dramatic.

Better then anything and still 10 million after 3 years lol. Shyber I think they need to work on MKT101 hehe
I'm gonna assume you're smart and act intentionally dumb for the lulz. :)
For comparison, GTA4 sold around 25 million in 5 years across two platforms, GTA5 is at 29million. Black Ops pulled in 15 million units across all platforms. These are mega popular franchises that sell crazy.

Despite being received poorly by the press, and a game targeted at a niche AND bound to a single platform, pulling in 10million units is mighty impressive. I guess we all need marketing lessons from them. ;)

and this does not include Forza5

i m not claiming it destroyed GT5 in sales but at least ur claim is not valid either. come on man, i expected better from the legendary SHYBER :p
It didn score as much as Forza3 and Forza4 because it was a mess at release and fixed only by patches. Nobody reviewed it after (free) patches so that makes the review scores quite invalid.

The other metric were sales, where GT does indeed annihilate Forza. If you add Prologue sales too then the total reached upwards of 14million. You can add Forza5 to the figures too.

Game. Set. Match.

Now can we get rid of anti-fanboys and have an actual anticipatory discussion?

Fun Fact; despite being poorly received at the time of release, GT5 has higher metacritic score than Forza 5

I'm sorry but GT5 was a huge disappointment even after all the updates. Even though I did complete it but it wasn't what I expected.
rFactor 2 is much much better and it is a constantly evolving simulator.
I might buy a ps4 when this comes out though :p
Gotta try ALL the racing simulators OR get rich enough to race for real (or get into F1 because of the money which is sadly what's happening currently :/) Shyber you HAVE to try it!
P.S did anyone try last year's GT academy?

Haha I knew I said the incantation right and successfully summoned you :D
But tell me, would you miss out on GT6 this December? Or GT7?

And I know what you mean. I've tried rFactor and even the original was on another level. To be honest I didn't wanna spend on rfactor2, that's plain ugly and I'm a bad person but I would've played if there was some free version or something.

The comparisons I primarily made were with Forza 3 and Forza 4.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
