Okay so basically I'm in that stage of life where most of you guys have been through or going through it.The title pretty much says it,I need advice FSC or A levels. What are my career plans? Engineering, basically. My current situation
(i)Can't go abroad or out of city(Lahore) after A levels/FSC.
(ii)Only interested in Engineering atm
(iii)Allah ka shukr,I don't have any problems with paying of tuition + college of either FSC or A levels...

Anyways here are my set of questions:
(i) Are there any good private universities in lahore that support A levels?
(ii)If I choose FSC,will it be difficult to adapt to the ratta system?

Additional info:please add some real life experience here so I might have a clear view of the whole picture.

Yar generally private institutions don't have a problem with A-level students since they base their admission on the "open merit system". But still I would recommend you to get first hand info from the various universities of your choice directly, by phone or by visiting them. Government universities generally have quota system so yeah that's where A-level students face problems since they have very few seats to compete over.
If you want good education and solid foundation (irrespective of which university you get admitted to) then I would suggest A-levels.
Otherwise if your desired university isn't so fond of A-level students then go ahead with the FSC system. Adjusting to FSC will definitely be difficult, but the best way would be to attend college regularly and take all of their preparation examinations in order to get an idea of the exams and grading systems. And I would suggest you to attend a private college if you want to adapt easily, for obvious reasons. FSC is tough, there is a lot of course to be covered and a lot to study for the exams, but i'm sure you'll be able to do it if you work hard (which I'm sure O/A level students are already used to).

I myself transferred from the O/A level system to the local system but before O-levels (in the 9th class that is) and the subjects I had trouble with were Urdu, Pak studies, etc cuz you have to write a lot and I mean PAges and Pages blabbering about a particular topic. So yeah I wasn't used to that. But then again Matric is a lot easier than FSC. FSC main urdu is the toughest trust me. You'll definitely have problems adjusting to that.

So yeah just bear in mind which unis you will probably apply to and ask for their admission criteria and base your decision on that.

Best of Luck. Buddy

It depends a lot on your o'levels result, cuz for entry test of any university only your o'levels marks will be counted if you do A'levels in future and even 73% of your equivalence will be your o'levels marks...

What are you O'levels grades? I have done O'levels and after that Pre-engineering.
If you want to study abroad then go for A'levels and if you want to stay at lahore then fsc is your best bet.

If you are gonna go to universities like NUST FAST GIK UET, I recommend doing FSC, as i did Alevels now im having problems getting in any university solely because the entry test is Purely based on FSC syllabus. But if you think you can handle the entry tests than absolutely you should go with Alevels.

The result comes around in August, the admissions are open and I have to choose my career.

Alright, judging by all the opinions about FSC from you guys and others.I came to the conclusion that FSC is my best bet in Lahore,Pakistan.
I don't have much knowledge about it,that's why one of you thinks that the description is irrelevant.

Anyways thanks, you guys have helped me to choose my decision.

With best regards,
Haad

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!
