I didn't know this thread existed.
I am a C-130 veteran (I guess everyone is who has a forces background).
Used to be nightmare. People throwing up. Bad air conditioning. Headaches nausea were all normal. Those after effects lasted for a couple of days even after landing. But was still worth it since you're traveling for free :D

Haha, totally agree....an experience worth it.
And once while I was travelling from Khi to ISB, before appx 20 mins of landing, a passenger jet of Airblue crashed in the Margla Hills (it was the most terrible weather day I have ever seen in Isb in 10 years, I witnessed when I finally reached Isb at 3 pm, it was unbelievably dark) and our flight diverted from Isb to Kamra or Shorkot Base (don't remember exactly which one), and the base was freaking sexy, it was a very wonderful experience but a sad day because of the tragedy.
And another time while I was travelling from Isb to Khi in June, the plane had to deliver a shipment at Jacobbabad (the most Hot city of Pakistan) and hell it took 2 straight hours there, and it was hot, really hot. Of course it's a free ride.
So fudge happens but life can never be so memorable without these fudges.

Spent 5 hours in Dubai..sleepin..praying, very nice mosque but very small..gonna spend som $$$ on return and explore Dubai better.

I recently traveled on a cross continental flight on emirates, and tbh it was meh at best..Sup par food and snooty flight attendants, like they are doing me a favor by bringing me food :/

Wish i had gone with turkish airline instead, they have a running promotion in which if you have >6 hour stay at Istanbul airport, they offer complimentary tours of the city..

How was the 777 that took you to PEK?
It was considerably older than the 777 that took you to Dubai from ISB.

Thats because they side with the sea so the air keeps circulating but trust me . Beijing pollution is very severe . I used to havr an app called AQI (Air Quality Index) which showed me how bad is the pollution and then decided whether or not I should br wearing a mask
