It's priced starting at $600 USD
Microsoft's Xbox One console just got an official release date in China, and it's set for September 23.
According to Reuters, Yusuf Mehdi -- head of marketing and strategy for Microsoft's Xbox group -- announced the Xbox One's launch date at an event in Shanghai.
Customers in China can pick up an Xbox One for 3,699 yuan ($600 USD) without the Kinect motion detection system, or for 4,299 yuan ($700 USD) with Kinect.
That's a pretty hefty price tag compared to the cost of an Xbox One in the U.S., which is $399 USD without Kinect and $499 USD with it.
While such a high price (as well as piracy and PC/mobile gaming dominance) could deter Chinese customers, the Xbox One is the first console to be sold in China's gaming market since the 2000 ban was lifted earlier this year -- making the Xbox One a pretty big deal.
Microsoft was able to enter the market via a deal with Chinese internet TV set-top box maker BesTV New Media Co Ltd. The two formed a joint venture last year to manufacture the Xbox One console in Shanghai's Free Trade Zone. Microsoft's biggest competitor in the console business, Sony's PlayStation, will look to make an entry into China soon as well. In fact, it's setting up a joint venture with Shanghai Oriental Pearl Group to do just that. The Xbox One launch date comes shortly after news of Microsoft's Chinese offices being raided. According to Neowin, four of Microsoft's offices were raided by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce in China as part of an official investigation. While it remains unclear as to why the raids are taking place, some speculate that it has to do with China's mistrust in Microsoft's relationship with the U.S. government.

I really hope to see a major price drop because if that happens so ,Pakistan might just import Xbox from China and might sell it at a cheaper price .
