XBOX 360 or PS3

Hi Guys,

I am new to this community and I am posting for the first time as well. I am planning to buy a console for me but I am still not sure for which one I shoud go for; Whether it should be XBOX 360 or PS3; I have searched for it on the Internet and everyone is saying technical things like 7 SPEs in PS3 and 3 General Purpose Core Processors in XBOX 360 and that PS3 processing power is more than that of XBOX360 but at the end they says that it will be very much difficult for the developes to spread their code on different processor chips due to which for the current games and type of programming techniques being use; XBOX360 is the best.

I have again read some problems regarding XBOX360 that it Green Ring Goes Red and then it couldn't communicate with its controller after that and then you have to send it for Warranty.

Lot of you guys must be using XBOX360 and others will be PS3 so what is your experience and which Graphics are better and which one is more reliable machine. I don't care about the future use bcz I can buy a new console after 2 years so future aspects of a console doesn't matters.

Well,alot of threads like this have been created but ur new so here you go

X360 has pirated games now so if u have a low budget than u can go for 360
X360 has a rrod problem which cud make ur x360 die
THe online feature is better in da 360 but u can get banned after some time.

PS3 has lots of amazing games coiming in 2008
PS3 games arent pirated so if u can spend 3000 on a single game then well you're rich this is da main problem for PS3 in pakistan.
PS3 online mode isnt as good as 360

This is your decision for what to buy so buy whichever u want.

Welcome to PG dude. In term of specs the PS3 and 360 are pretty evenly matched. The 360's GPU is stronger while the PS3's CPU is stronger. The games are same grahics at this point.

If you can afford 4000rs. games go for the PS3. But the complete experience can only be enjoyed on HDTV.

If you prefer cheap games then go for the 360. It has 150rs. games in the market easily available. And the newer model has greatly reduced the failure problem.

I personally own a 360 and the experience has been great. Awesome games with awesome graphics. Connect it with a monitor and you get near HD experience.


So go for the newer version of 360 called falcon. And God willing you won't get the dreaded 3rod.

360 wins cause it gets rrod and die......leaving ur console good for nothing and it has no source for showing u contents more than 7.5 gb on the other hand loser ps3 has a 1% faulty rate and can show run blueray disk containing 50 gbs of contents and last not least next generation disk so choice is all urs

Bhaeoo; I personally like PS3 very much because it is very beautiful; Its CPU is desinged for future Gaming anyhow more or less specs for both are same the only problem I have with PS3 is the cost of the Game which is too much high for us. While with XBOX360; I don't have any problem either except its failure percentage is very high; but one of you just told that a new Model named Falcon is in the Market which has very less failure rate so may be I will go for this and yes in 2009 when PS3 would have been cracked; I will buy PS3 because I am a great fan of Uncharted Drake's Fortune.

Good idea afmamoon. Make sure you get the Falcon model. Lots of shopkeepers will try to con you.

And one more thing; How I will know that the Model I am gonna buy have a Falcon Chip or the old Chip. If something is written on the BOX?
