Xbox 360 (LIVE): Troubleshooting NAT issues

Well i checked it and sadly it had no effect what-so-ever...though there was a plus to this,the torrents and stuff nw download way faster but Xbox Live still is giving a Moderate NAT...

Guess il have to get a separate PTCL connection for Xbox Live...

Hello Guys!! i just buy a Xbox 360 Console and am facing the same NAT Error during connecting Xbox Live!! I am using Mobilink WiMAX so I am not able to edit those port settings as Mobilink never disclose the password of my ZyXEL device. I just requested to open the following ports.

TCP 80
UDP 88
UDP 3074
TCP 3074
UDP 53
TCP 53

but due to some reasons they said that they cant open TCP 80 Port and tell me the alternated port 81 or 82. Is the 81 or 82 port is alternated to TCP 80? I asked them to open 81 instead of 80.

Now I'll try to connect Xbox Live!

^^well my wateen connects just fine,its the stupid NAT Moderate status that bugs me...i m surprised that mobilink would hide the password of the modem device,thats just not right!!

guess u will hve to get urself the usual PTCL broadband connection to fix this...i had to do that too but i m lovin the no-lag experience on LIVE nw

i might be able to help you a little..

I see you've already opened the ports.. can you please check these things in your routers settings

1) Your UPnP must be enabled (universal plug an play)

2) You MUST check your firewall.. one day i went through alot of messed up settings and was willing to pull my hair and kept thinking why my Live wasn't working properly until i realized i had two firewalls on, one the windows vista one as well as the Nortan internet security.. so make sure you turn off both and check.. if it works than keep one on and than check again

3) A little risky but go ahead and enable DMZ.. that should work and remvoe NAT restrictions

Number 3 sovled the problem for me..

Is your connection Bridged? Just curious.. like are you getting internet from a Wireless Router and your Xbox connected via ethernet to the Computer?

Thanks Durran!!! i have tryed UPnP. As one of the Costomer Representative told me that UPnP is enabled for your device. I'll also try other two options and share my results with all of you.

Yeah man!!! Last night I try too connect Xbox Live!! So I can able to connect it through Xbox Live!! .

I do not have to perform the following steps to connect...

I just open the following Ports:

TCP 80 (TCP 81 instead of TCP 80)
UDP 88
UDP 3074
TCP 3074
UDP 53
TCP 53

And enable UPnP (universal plug an play).

that's all i have done to enable Xbox Live Gaming on Mobilink Infinity WiMAX. They do not disclose the password of the device but they help in real manner.

ok, so here's my problem:

i'm on PTCL. My modem is Shiro. It is set up in such a way, that the IP is defined to the modem. So i can connect my computer or my laptop to the internet at "Automatic IP" setting. But as i connect my xbox to it, i get "NAT is moderate" error. I have enabled uPNP on my PTCL modem, but still no luck. Help me out here guyz.

i just wanted to say that i opened the NAT of ZyXEL router without any port forwarding... i just went on UpnP options and ticked the two bozes that are there... and from strict my NAT went to open

My wateen device model is ZTE IX380. I alreadyhave digged around to find NAT or upnp thing in its's configuration page but these two options are not there. But, I manage to find out port forwarding option. Now, one thing is confusing me and that's what IP address I am supposed to put there. My LAN IP address is 192.168.1.1, should I put this one in there? And If yes, then it's not working I mean after giving everything as mentioned earlier in this post when I click on submit or save ... it gives me an error saying, " you can't uses modem/router IP address or something". What IP should I use for this ****? please help me
