Some time ago I posted a thread named "Nokia 7 Plus not available anywhere. Help Please". And I was informed that it would arrive soon. I have been waiting for it but then Advance Telecom replied me that it has been discontinued. In the meantime I read about Nokia 7.1 Plus and according to the online websites it's specifications were great but after its announcement I found that it was a downgrade from Nokia 7 Plus according to its specifications. Now I wish to import Nokia 7 plus. Kindly help me and inform how I can import it safely and economically. Thanks :)

The new phone that got launched is Nokia 7.1, not Nokia 7.1 Plus.
This is the successor to the original Nokia 7, which was only released in China.

If you want a N7+, ask a relative to bring it from Dubai. It costs around 1300 AED there.

If that's not feasible, you'll need to know the IMEI of the device before importing it as that is a requirement to get an NOC from PTA to clear the phone from customs.

Importing one would end up being quite expensive, as 1300 AED is 43k and importing one from AliExpress or so would cost around the same with taxes and import duty included.

Thanks Murtaza12 for your reply. So the one announced is Nokia 7.1 and not Nokia 7.1 Plus. Is there any chance they would announce Nokia 7.1 Plus sometime in future. The specifications posted on various websites of Nokia 7.1 Plus seems quite impressive. :)

Man Nokia 7.1 hardly feels like an successor with SD 636 instead of SD 710 which i expected in it, the original Nokia 7 Plus has SD 660 which is quite powerful in mid range category!

Thanks for your reply. Can I find this phone in good condition, like just like new on OLX? And how to check if the phone has no problem and would work perfectly? Kindly help. :)

You completely missed the point. Nokia 7.1 is NOT the successor to the 7 Plus.

Nokia 7.1 is the successor of Nokia 7, which had SD630, so the SD636 in the newer model is perfectly justified.

Nokia 7 Plus doesn't have a successor yet, when (and if) one is released, it will most likely have SD 710, or whatever mid-range SoC Qualcomm is offering at that time.

It's hard to find on OLX, but not impossible. It will take some time. Most are sparingly used phones that people are trying to recover maximum money on.

You'll see 1-2 month used phones selling for up to 37k which was the brand new retail price of one.

If you do find one, just check basic functionality, display, speakers, camera, microphone.

My advice to you would be to not buy a used mobile, and especially not from OLX. There are plenty of other phones in that price bracket that are just as good. Why don't you shop around for another brand/model?

yea used cells are a gamble, maybe they'll work just fine or they'll start giving you issues, it gets even more riskier when you spend alot of money

btw y not from olx?

Because everyday you hear stories about someone getting ripped off on olx. Now, I don't know how truthful or accurate these stories are, but the main point is to just avoid buying used. You have absolutely no idea how well or poorly the device was treated, and it's far too big of a risk, especially, are you said, for higher priced devices.
