Karachi: The Pakistani rupee ended firmer yesterday thanks partly to a supportive statement from the central bank, but it remained close to a record low in thin trading.
The rupee ended at 67.80/68.50 to the dollar, up slightly from Monday's close of 68.00/69.00. Still, the currency has depreciated 10 per cent since the start of the year.
Trade has been thin since the rupee hit a record intraday low of 69.47/67 and a record closing low of 69.40/60 on Friday:frown:

General factors leading to devaluation: Persistent adverse trade balance and disequilibrium in balance of payment are the main causes, which compels a country to devalue its currency. Major components of trade balance are exports and imports of a country. Adverse trade balance is generally the result of slackness in exports in comparison to imports.

if the ruppe is goin to depriciate with this speed. All prices would be insane.:frown:
A brand new psp would cost around 17 k in next 2 to 4 months

This is why I believe the government has to be very hard on the elite class of Pakistan. They are the ones causing most of the demand which causes negative balance of trade. Tax them on imported cars, and every foreign cell phone imported into the country should be taxed a lot more. Why is the government letting people buy iPhones and Razrs when people can make do with a Nokia 3310?

Tax flat screen tvs, tax PS3s and 360s, tax everything non-essential that is causing this huge trade deficit.

Price of oil has hit $132, this is getting ridiculous. We need to urgently prevent all non-essential imports so that we have money to spare for food and oil imports, these are the two most important things to the well being of a country.

We can't have the rich playing their video games while running their AC on a generator while the poor man starves on the street.

This sucks. Big time.
Earlier, we used to multiply the price in dollars with 60 and get the approx paki price.
Now that has gone up to 70. Pathetic.

Our economy, thanks to our politicians, SUCKS.

One day I go to Saddar to ask for the price of Samsung 226BW LCD...it was 21,000 rupees....

4/5 days later, I phone them up, and the new price is 24,600 :(

Right now (another 4/5), its 23,000 ..

Its due to some good souls around otherwise they didn't put Pakistan in a position where it would have collapsed a way before this time. Thanks to the so called Democracy still we didn't find any change and going towards worse. Inflation in the COuntry oil prices rising even poors are not willing to buy food for one. May ALLAH Help us and bless the poor souls.

Blame the media.

Making musharraf sound like an enemy when he is the only person who actually let a free media come.

Making a crisis out of nothing ... and now making a crisis sound like nothing.

Aab beahnchoods ko atta ki kami nazar nae ati ? ... waise to news breaks atay thay. Bc aab atta dheko ... gnadum is 300rs/10kg up from 260! NO subsidies on utility stores. Everything that was there for the people ... REMOVED.

I wonder how can peopel fall for such petty propaganda. Cheif Justice who gives a fuck ? I doubt even 1 lakh people in paksitan would be able to take there cases to the Supreme Court.

Musharraf had many traits i argee
But atleast in the previous government Rupee didnt fall in value over night
Basic necessities were like wheat and rice were reasonable priced

But look at things now Pakistan iz now being run by a Wadera who iz perhaps the most dangerous man in Pakistan and a Bald Guy with room temperature IQ who was kicked out by the Army for an act only this lame dude can think of (u all remember the incidents of 1999)

Lemme put it straight. We all know that we don't wanna show it but deep down in our hearts we have that feeling that Pakistan is gonna die.
Like that one map the CIA made of 2016 and in it there was no Pakistan, it was part of India or some sort of a colonized America. I know we dont want that and when this rumor came out i thought it was bullshit. But look around you. We are running out of electricity, in the winters there is no gas, prices going up as a mark of things getting expensive. Crop yields aren't up to expectations and crops such as rice are being bought from places like Australia considering we are an agricultural based country. Were being deprived of water and ironically in the coming years, if the government doesn't do something about the dams then melted caps of mountains and glaciers turning into water are gonna flood all of Pakistan because Pakistan has a slope landscape. There were and still are no good leaders after the death of Quaid e Azam and i doubt there will ever be

i think those are some strong points proving Pakistan is gonna die. I too, Really hope and i pray this would not happen but the circumstances tell otherwise. Well lets just see what the future holds for us.
