I dont know about latest flagships but Note 5's Camera is quite good Ive heard huawei P9 dual camera workslike DSLR ?

A lot of flagship phones have good cameras, and so do some mid range devices, however you can't always rely on Auto mode. Getting the best out of a camera requires having knowledge about photography and how cameras work. Point being, you need to know your way around the Manual or Pro mode on the camera app, to tinker with some things and get the best photo.

The Note 5 does indeed have a great camera, try the S7 edge, or the Huwaei Mate series, as long as you have manual controls, you should be able to get a great photo.
Even the OnePlus 3/3T has a great camera, people are happy with it as a point and shoot camera and when fiddling with camera controls as well, though you may have to use an app for that as I'm not sure if the built-in one supports manual control over the camera.

OP 3/3T have manual controls baked in. I am more than satisfied by the camera quality of the phone, though the S7 Edge has a better camera and so does the iPhone 7, maybe Google Pixel as well, but i don't know about it. It depends what you are looking for. If you only care for best quality of camera and price is not an issue, then S7 Edge would be best in Android (others can disagree).

iPhone 7 Plus and Google Pixel have the best smartphone cameras. All other phones are a downgrade, even the S7 Edge. Google Pixel does low light better IMO. Nothing comes close to the iPhone 7 Plus in daylight. Its portrait (bokeh) mode is absolutely incredible. I cannot believe the pictures that come out in this mode.

If you want Android phone with best camera nothing beats Google Pixel at the moment.

IMO Pixel and 7 plus have the best cameras. Depending on the environment/condition and the type of photos you want, one may be better than the other.

Personally I feel that iPhone's photos have washed up colors. On the other hand Pixel is lacking OIS.
There is also a difference in the field of view. Pixel has a wider angle lens and it was one of the main reasons I bought it.

Most people just want to point and shoot. For that purpose Pixel is the best. iPhone 7 plus is a close second.

Using 7 plus after note 5. Preeetty good experience so far especially the portrait mode in well lit conditions.
For 'manual' controls, I use my dslr. Cellphones are meant to be point and shoot
