Where can I get 4-channel radio controllers?

So I'm taking part in the robowars event in the LUMS Psifi in Jan (I'm sure some of you must have heard about it), and obviously am looking to build an RC car. We have everything taken care of EXCEPT the remote control bit. Being a bunch of A level students we really can't make one ourselves, we identified a hobby shop on Tariq Road that's selling ready-made kits (i.e. the controller and relays are already made, all you need to do is wire it up to whatever you want to turn on or off via remote) but they're asking 16k for it (though he says there are cheaper Chinese ones available for 8k as well but even that's a bit too expensive IMO) o_O

Any idea where I can find these for a cheaper price (or if anyone has one and is willing to sell it?)

I would suggest you search youtube for last years robo wars. the winner was a badass robo. and people ahve already completed their robos (you havent started yet :)

My university won that event in 2010. The guys built the robot using metal from the C-130 airplane's propeller metal. I had the option of tweaking the robot and going to PsiFi again, but I decided against it. You're lucky we're not coming ;)

Moeed runs Hobby Lobby. Bastards loot and don't spare anyone. I would recommend Fly and Spy from Isloo since they are ones who provide the main stock to them and much cheaper compared to their prices. A'holes charged me 250 for a 1 foot fuel pipe when from isloo with shipping cost 60!

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
