[FONT=verdana, sans-serif]What do you think are the qualities that make up a good game? For me, a game is good when time passes by so fast while you play it. There are some games I played where I experience that. I like Conquer Age so much. But when I want a break from too much MMO game, I play my past time game which is the Honeyday Blitz 2. I didn’t think anything of it cus it’s the same gameplay with Candy Crush. The hexagonal layout may be a small thing, but adds a lot more fun. Really gotta look closely for the next move.

Conmbat is my top priority even if they story is mediocre. Not always though. I love bloodbourne because of its gameplay even though I have barely understood whats going on. I didnt really like 'playing' heavy rain or beyond two souls even though they had above average stories but the gameplay was mundane.

There are various factors and elements that can make a game as interesting as your monthly paycheck or as boring as hell. Personally, I'm very picky in games - I look at the game mechanics, story, gameplay and last but not least graphics. Some modern gamers believe that 'graphics' don't matter, but in my view, they do — it shows the sweat and effort put by developers & designers. Overall, it makes the game so much better and entertaining.

Difficult question to answer to be honest. There are so many different types/genres of games and each one of them has a different criteria of what makes them good for me.

But I have found that I tend to move towards Story over gameplay. I mean if a game has awesome/fun gameplay but lame/mediocre story, I'll enjoy it while playing it obviously but will forget it not long after finishing it. But if a game has a great story and characters and really immerses you in it, it will remain with me for a long long time even if the gameplay wasn't that good and was buggy and stuff.

The sweet spot (very difficult to achieve) is to have a game with good story, good gameplay and good graphics. Those are the games that REALLY stick with you forever.

For me, the most important aspect in game is the world setting and atmosphere it creates. The ability to lose oneself in a game world means the devs have accomplished the goal of making players immerse themselves in a fictitious world. Even if the gameplay is a bit mediocre, all is forgiven as long as the immersion factor remains intact and true.

My list of games that really nailed the immersion factor for me:

1. Vampires: Bloodlines
2. Arx Fatalis
3. Fallout 3
4. Stalker
5. Metro
6. Deus EX
7. SKYRIM
