XBOX Walk down memory lane..

well WRPG's are really getting popular now i think all bioware games did over a million atleast, then there is elder scrolls, fable and a few other. And GT is a popular simulation game but most people will tell you it really isn't a real simulation no damage/lackluster ai/ online play. Real simulation was a very small cult genre on the PC. Hell the xbox brand was a messiah for us PC gamers it allowed the developers to sell their games across a much larger audience and its still continuing with most western developers now making games across both the PC and 360 and now even RTS is joining in.

for me , i bought because of the ease of use (i.e. the scene) , copying games to hdd is an amazing feature , i have bought a total of 14 games on xbox ! it saved me tons of cash !

i've never said i HATE the xbox (well, never openly ) i just say that the ps2 is simply the best console in terms of sheer library of good games in every genre.

well i don't think i can agree, the ps2 has hardly any good Westren RPG and also has very few good FPS games. The xbox was much better in shooter/ WRPGs/ Racing while the ps2 had a much stronger catalogue of JRPGs/ Action/ Fighting/ Casual games. Both platforms were basically similar on the Sports and Platformers front.

IIRC gran turismo 3 and 4 sold a LOT more then any racer on the xbox, so that tells you something eh .. and before anyone gives ye olde "the ps2 had so many more units" speech, consider this, people won't spend money on a bad game even if the console its on has 100 gabillion units worldwide.

anyway lets not turn this into a debate, the only part where i whole heartedly admit the xbox pwns the ps2 is in first person shooters, even with those the line isnt that big with games like Black on both systems.

PS2 didnt have any western RPG to begin with so i wouldnt count it as one of its cons.

come on man you know better than that, madden sold 6.5 million, cars over 2 milion, superman and x men over a million while games like okami, psychonauts couldn't even do half million. Sales only tells about sales nothing else popular/hyped games sell.

its not about sportsman ship lol, i really dont see why you think gran turismo isnt a good driving simulator, GT3 received 9.3 and 4 received 8.9 (heavily because of lack of online gaming) from gamespot, those are some pretty solid scores.

now im trying to say things like zomg gt>forza etc, im just saying its all good. Thinking which game is better is up to the individual.

and the ps2 really DIDNT have any WRPG's at all, FFXII is the closest thing to it.

ONE GAME DOESN'T MAKE A LIBRARY, the xbox just had more good racing games forza/PGR/Colin Mcrae/Rallisports/MotoGP.

and the ps2 really DIDNT have any WRPG's at all, FFXII is the closest thing to it.

AND THAT"S WHAT I AM SAYING, the xbox had no JRPG's and the ps2 didn't have any WRPG's as a result xbox was better in WRPG genre then the ps2 and vice versa.

FPS/WRPGs/Racing genres were better on the xbox.

playing shooting games using analog sticks is teh 7VM35T thing i can think of and it sucks.
The last time i tried to shoot, using the analog sticks. It was Hitman III. And playing on the dual shock was a PITA. You can play better but i cudn't may be caz i am just used to playing racing, mission, fighting games on the DualShock but i think for FPS ..a mouse should be included with every console along with the necessary controller.

Aint playing with FPSes with the mouse, a cool and the 'hero's way'?

thats where youre wrong , take jrpgs for example , for me when comparing the two consoles i`d wouldnt even count the jrpgs because they are the games i would never play. so for me that useless. in the end , thats what its all about , your own preference. xbox had the games i wanted (and still does , my to play list is around 30 games).

actually the dualshock does kind of suck when it comes to FPS's but the xbox controller was perfect for this genre, i actually preferred playing FPS's using the controller than on my pc.

i'd say thats a matter of prefrence as well, for me im more comfertable with both the analog sticks being on the same level so i can keep my thumbs steady, i can't imagine how the xbox owners do it with one stick lower then the other.

p.s. 360 fps and pro evo controllers , where are they ?

matter of prefrence, you like the analog stick on the place of the d pad, me, i can't imagine how anyone can play like that.
