Play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Free Edition
Free for offline play against bots and spectating matches through GOTV.

Despite Valve having multiple successful free to play games, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) is the one that has always remained a paid title. That is until now, as Valve is releasing a free version of the shooter that will allow anyone to play offline against bots and watch professional matches.

If you head over to the Steam store and install CS:GO – Free, you will have access to a limited version of CS:GO. You will not be able to play any online matches, or connect to any public servers, which is obviously the only real way of playing CS:GO. However, you will be able to enter into a private server with bots, allowing you to either warm up your aim, test out the game or just have a few rounds of fun shooting some bots in the face.
Arguably the more interesting part of this is that anyone can now watch professional CS:GO matches in game, which allows them more control over what they see. When watching in GOTV, the in game viewing client, viewers will be able to view whatever player they choose, instead of having to watch the directed camera from the official streams.

Chances are this won’t have too much of an impact on the viewing figures for the upcoming FACEIT Major in London, which will be the first tournament users of CS:GO – Free will be able to watch on their new free client. However, it does give an extra option to those who want to watch the action with more control but for some reason don’t own CS:GO already.
This new client should also act as kind of a demo. Being able to jump into a bot match should mean that you can see if your PC will be able to run it, and even if you think you will like it, without having to put down some money first. It is also unknown if this version will allow you to play matches via LAN, which would technically be offline. If that is possible then this build could make organising grassroots LAN events much easier.
Adding a very limited free version of CS:GO is quite a strange move, many have said Valve should just make CS:GO free to play anyway, as they make a lot of money off in game skins and microtransactions. But adding this version that doesn’t even allow you to experience the main part of CS:GO, playing matches against other people online, seems to offer little to anyone interested in the game itself.

Might wanna look at the steam charts [emoji14] I stopped playing years ago but that because I m not to big on competitive shooters. CS is and will always be the king of multiplayer fps in PC shooter market. The core gameplay is unchanged since like 1999. You can't improve perfection.

CS in itself is pretty good, but not the online experience. Way too many exploiters. Which is why the gaming zones I visit are populated by CS:GO turned Siege or PUBG players. Think you missed my point here.

Exploiters as in hackers right? Don't think it has much to do with people leaving cs go for another game. Siege has it fair share share of hackers too. I don't know what the situation of hacking in both games are in 2018 but I assume it's minimal since both are going strong. It's been a while I played both of these games. CS GO is just old now so people moved to newer games (including me)

I play CSGO on and off, have been playing it these days, it's still pretty fun. There's also another platform "faceit" where there are way fewer hackers and better servers according to my experience.

While R6 is more fun to play as compare to CSGO, both games got the hacking problem. But Valve takes better steps to counter them as compare to Ubisoft.
Also iampasha is right, CSGO still has way more players than R6. Even the server related issues are less in CSGO. (sm1)

Huh? You dont get items and crates just by being idle, you have to play to get those. Trading cards yes you can get those by idling but CSGO ones are not the rare ones.
Sometimes you get item drops by watching those live tournaments but thats sometimes, when a tournament is on.

Lol Wut? You don't get chests while idling also chest hardly have good value check the marketplace if you don't believe me. Nobody plays the game for the chest if anyone wants a particular skin he just buys it from the marketplace [emoji14]

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
