AoA Everyone,
I'm pretty sure a lot of people around here listen to Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and I personally believe he needs a complete separate thread. Belonging to the city he was born in, it is not a surprise I grew up listening to him but at the time wasn't able to relate to him or considered his music "paindoo" at the time but today after a long 19 years of living my life I realise that his work has no equal. There's a reason people use the word "Ustaad" for him and his qawalis are something I'm able to relate to quite deeply so naturally for me it is something that fuels me now.
Anyhow, I've created this thread so you are able to share your favourite qawalis, quotes, interpretations of his work and what you are currently or these days listening to.
Currently listening to: Ankhi Uthi Mohabbat ne Angrai Le
Favourite Lines: Baant li sab nay khushian, meray hissay may ghum reh gay
Been listening to 24/7, am in completely love with it, have listened to it before but never like this. Addicted to it.
P.S If I get a decent response, I'd like to make this the official Sufi/Qawali thread or merge it with the one NaNoW created ages ago.

Below is a brief history of his for people who haven't heard of him (you would need to be living under a rock or something to not know of him): Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (13 October 1948 – 16 August 1997) (Urdu: نصرت فتح علي خان) was a Pakistani musician, primarily a singer of Qawwali, the devotional music of the Sufis. Considered one of the greatest voices ever recorded, he possessed an extraordinary range of vocal abilities[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][2][/SUP][SUP][3][/SUP][SUP][4][/SUP] and could perform at a high level of intensity for several hours. Extending the 600-year old Qawwali tradition of his family, Khan is widely credited with introducing Qawwali music to international audiences.[SUP][5][/SUP] He is popularly known as "Shahenshah-e-Qawwali", meaning "The King of Kings of Qawwali".[SUP][6][/SUP]Born in Faisalabad, Pakistan, Khan had his first public performance at age of 16, at his father's chelum. He became the head of the family qawwali party in 1971. He was signed by Oriental Star Agencies, Birmingham, England, in the early 1980s. Khan went on to release movie scores and albums in Europe, India, Japan, Pakistan, and the US. He engaged in collaborations and experiments with Western artists, becoming a well-known world music artist. He toured extensively, performing in over 40 countries
