Salam guys, just bought a used laptop now what next? What are the things i should check or get checked? Which test should i perform and which apps to use for that purpose?
RAM -> GPU -> HDD. Hardware wise I pay attention to those in that order. Beyond that: battery life, Cd-rom, power cord, screen size, keyboad/ touchpad feel are all important but can very depending on the expected use of the unit and personal preference.
which utilities to use for ram hdd and gpu checking?
Hae checked dvd rom, screen, keyboard, battery seems decent, sound is fine, earphones, usb ports, wifi
for ram checking use memtest86... u'll have to create a bootable CD rom for that
for hard disk: hdtune (there shud be no bad sectors, reallocated sectors or pending sectors)....
does ur laptop have a dedicated gpu?
if so i dont think there is any need to do gpu tests apart from checking specs etc thru cpu-z/GPU-z
or test it by playing some game
I have heard that it is now unplayable in countries which do not support handful of third world countries not recognized by Sony like Pakistan. Steam is a true global platform. Then they cry that console gaming is dying.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
