Hello all,
6 months back i built a PC for the first time. Im very happy with the specs that i chose except for a small mistake i made. I chose to have i5 7400 as my processor coupled with RX 580 attached on the b-250 asus MOBO. I had always intended to play all the latest AAA titles. I soon realized my cpu is a bottleneck when i installed Battlefield 1 and AC origins.
BF1 on large games with 64 players uses 100 CPU while gpu is only 70-80%. This causes low framerate, but, mainly it causes some sort of input lag with my mouse making the game unplayable. i am forced to play smaller sized games.
Question:
Should i sell my i5 7400 and get i7 7700. or should i sell both my cpu and mobo and get and 8th gen i7 and a mobo that supports it. Because my current mobo is lga1151 i believe which cant house an 8th gen CPU. which route is better in the long run (for the next 3-4 years).
Also is it safe to buy used CPUs? I live in Lahore. Any suggestions would be nice.
